Description
Hi there, please only reply if it is realistic for you to join us around 10th March for two weeks.
We are a family of six. We have four children (20,18,14 year old boys and a daughter of 11).
Our children are curious, energetic and playful. We have been home educating them for most of their lives, with a few periods of school for them to see if it was for them. It wasn't!
We are currently living in Patnem, South Goa, India and are looking for someone to help oversee some educational work for our 12 year old daughter Anna. This would involve helping her with her maths, writing skills and general knowledge. Our whole family is here. Joseph (21) is doing an online degree in Philosophy and Leadership. Amos (19) is using his time to explore meditation, contact improvisation, meditation and yoga ( here in Patnem there are SO many options for personal development). Patnem is an A-MA-ZING part of Goa. Beautiful beaches, lots of international young people, great food and lots of things to do.
We would ask you to commit to up to a maximum 5 hours a day. In exchange, you would have your own private bedroom with wifi, ensuite bathroom, A/C unit, along with all meals or a budget for meals for when not eating with the family.
We would like you to come and stay with us for at least two weeks, and if you enjoyed staying there might be an option to stay longer?
Our previous experience of workaway's has been so positive. We love how in the past a new workaway has bought with them their culture, their personality and their way of seeing the world and shared it with ourselves and our children. We think it contributes enormously to their education and their young lives.
Coming to spend time with our family would particularly suit someone who:
* is interested in an alternative / spiritual lifestyle (we are interested in Eastern philosophy, healing, wellbeing, and spending time in nature!)
*loves young people and has an optimistic and sunny outlook on life!
* who knows how to cook lovely varied meals meals (with an emphasis on vegetarian).
*does not smoke (incl. e-cigarettes)
*someone who has experience of young people (like siblings)
* can start very soon!
We really look forward to hearing from you.
Warmest regards, Gabrielle and Alex

Gabrielle is an English teacher and Alex enjoys practising Compassionate Communication by Marshall Rosenberg. We have home educated our children and have a unique perspective on life! We are a loving and very welcoming family, and you would enjoy meeting and getting to know all of us, including our children.

Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.

Help
We would love someone who could share their passion and skill for cooking, and someone who can really inspire us towards more of a vegetarian diet (half the family eat meat and we are all working towards becoming more vegetarian).
As well as walking our dog, your help would mainly involve preparing and cooking food and an hour of light housework per day.

My wife Gabrielle is a qualified English teacher, so speaks very good French and a little Spanish. Even a small amount of Portuguese.
Accommodation
You would have your own private shower room, and a private single room on the ground floor of our rented house. The house is equipped with fast WiFi, a large kitchen, and is in a lovely quiet part of Patnem..

What else ...
You would have good conversation and have a lot of talking to do in English with our very articulate sons!
You would have the use of a bicycle to get around Patnem. The beach is a 5 minute walk from our house.
