  • Description

I run a few boutique Himalayan retreats in India. They are reasonably high end and I am looking for educated, english speaking hosts/hostesses for these retreats to interact with international guests and also to act as guides who could take them for walks/hikes. Both resorts are in the Himalayan state of Uttaranchal, one in Munsiyari and one in Pancheshwar. Young people with interest in nature, mountains, trekking, angling would be an additional qualification.
I was the editor of an international business news/financial markets television channel and have spent 15 years talking about stocks and bonds on TV. Now I have retired from that and spend most of my time in the Himalayas and am rolling out quite a few boutique resorts.

  • Help

Would want volunteers to contribute to the running of the Himalayan retreats as hosts. Help profile would entail interacting with guests, making them feel comfortable, exploring the neighbouring area to be able to take guests for short hikes, spending time conversing with them so knowledge of english is a requisite.

  • Accommodation

Accommodation in one of the cottage style luxury tents of the retreats. These are glamping retreats, so tents are high end. All meals and on site costs are borne by us.

The first glamping retreat is in Munsiyari which is on the India Tibet border, home to the magnificent Panchachuli peaks. It is a beautiful location with stunning views of the greater Himalayas and alpine lakes. The work schedule is not hectic and volunteers should find lots of time to explore the area for themselves.
The fishing retreat is in Pancheshwar and is on the banks of the famous Mahakali river that forms the border between India and Nepal. Anglers from all over the world come here to fish for the Golden Mahseer. Its a heaven for anyone interested in Angling or rafting.
