Namaskaram! Join us as an enthusiastic, curious, hands on and warm hearted volunteer in our new eco river homestay in the Northern part of Kerala also known as God's own country.
We started our Indian/German venture in early 2017 and are proud to have welcomed unique and mindful guests from around the world.
Whilst supporting the bespoke Tulu tribe community project use time to dive into natural silence and peace between our secluded hill station (the “Ooty” of Kerala), famous Bekal Fort and the wild Arab Sea with its unspoilt beaches and hidden backwaters. Experience something truly different.
Our home sits on the edge of Kolichal, a small, friendly village with all amenities including supermarket, grocery shops, ATM, cyber cafe and village restaurants. It is easily accessible by road and blessed with lush green flora.
Our space represents a newly finished, Kerala style heritage home traditionally built with natural materials. It provides all modern amenities with 2 double bed rooms including comfy beds and en suite bathrooms - one indoor and one natural outdoor bathroom allowing to shower open air under bamboo and coconut trees next to a small banana and papaya grove. As we are yet not fully booked we are happy to accommodate volunteers and treat them as members of our family and community.
We provide a kitchen for your own use or invite you to enjoy with us authentic home made Kerala food both veg and non-veg. A spacious covered terrace allows you to relax in your free time in a hammock whilst following the peaceful village life and feeling the breeze which touches the branches of the holy tree next to the river bank.

As enjoyed by our guests also our volunteers will be part of our easy and open minded family and community life and welcomed by members of the Tulu tribe who are typically innocent, truthful and loyal souls.
We wish to create a truthful win win situation for volunteers who give us a hand, lend us their brain and show us their heart .
We need basic help to finish painting our homestay inside out and varnish wooden doors. Carpentry experience is welcome to create a simple set of palmwood/bamboo furniture pieces. Gardening is a useful task wishing someone to scout in the jungles and bring home small sibblings or seeds. Basic construction works need to be completed in our second house such as cement floors, false ceilings and basic plastering.
Join to improve our online presence including creation of our own well placed website and bring new spirit to take our flyers and logo to the next level.
We provide our volunteers with the same modern facilities of our rooms that our guests value and enjoy, i.e. double bed room with en suite bathroom including Western style toilets.
In your free time you will be provided with the best of three worlds: unspoilt ocean scenery, secluded backwaters, wild jungles and forests topped by our hill stations. Enjoy local art courses, learn how to prepare jummy Kerala food, get a training in the highly popular Kabaddi sports game or simply take a bath in our clean river nearby.
