Description
We are located in the centre of France in a rural farming community. Our nearest large town in Moulins, in the 03 department. We took on the renovation of a farmhouse and grounds some years ago, and are continuing to develop the property. However, we are getting into senior years, our work ethic remains the same, but realise that our bodies are getting tired! We have one last building project to complete this year, from start to finish.
Great opportunity for anyone wanting to learn the rudiments of building work. We have a spare room for accommodation (would suit a couple, ideally); can provide three good meals a day, and plenty of wine and conversation!Types of help and learning opportunities
DIY and building projectsUN sustainability goals this host is trying to achieve
Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Apart from the building skills that could be learned, we are skilled in a number of areas, electronics, engineering, welding, patchwork and quilting, English language (although our French is really poor). We are both former teachers
Help
Experienced or willing to learn the rudiments of building work, any help is appreciated. Any help with: footings, mixing concrete, laying blocks, electrics, plumbing and a lot of other things in between. The project has yet to be started, so it's from the ground up!

Accommodation
Sleeping and eating arrangements are within the main house, the room has twin beds, that can be made into a double if required, with a shared bathroom. All meals will be provided - English cuisine; cooked breakfast, lunch and evening meal. Wine and beer also available.
What else ...
We live a fairly quiet life, but have a number of local friends who we share time with. For anyone with own transport, there are lots of interesting places nearby for visits. We share our life with a number of cats (10-12), 2 young dogs and some hens. We are very willing to share our expertise and knowledge with others during their non-work hours if requested.
