Description
I have a farm in Saanich and would love to host some people to help with everything from planting trees, clearing bush, moving mulch etc.
I just took it over and have yet to host anyone, so I’m looking forward to my first workawayer!
There's a private studio with a bathroom and kitchen that will be made available to you and most meals too. I'm a man with a 10 year old boy and need the extra hands around the property and with meals and cleaning. likely I'll be working with you but would be great if you’re a self starter. There is a 5 acre forest that I'm rehabilitating as well, and likely bees will be on the property at some point this summer.
It's a great location, as close to the Ferries as it is to the city and the ocean is minutes away. Car would be nice to have but I go into Victoria quite often or can easily drop you at the bus to get where you want to go.
Pretty laid back. Couples or friends travelling together would be best, though there's also a trailer for singletons and lots of place for a tent if the property is full.
No real expectation that you help at all, but I have feeling you'll want to once you’re here. I’m biased but I think it’s the best place on earth.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
I've travelled long and far and speak a bunch of languages. I will also likely force you to learn how to slackline and juggle.
I'm happy to learn and teach languages, and I'm knowledgeable about many odd things. I only ask that you be open minded and easy going, i'm not one to stress about little things and would usually rather smoke a joint and ponder a problem than worry about it. I feel very lucky to be here and protect my mojo, the work is secondary to the atmosphere here. Good vibes only as they say.Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Help
I'll be creating a lavender field, bringing in bees, general maintenance of the gardens and later in the summer I'll be digging ponds and rehabbing a forest and stream that are on the property.

I speak french fluently after 9 years in France, my son and I both speak dutch (he's better) and I'm not bad in most of the latin languages. Love to learn and teach!Accommodation
The studio is around 650 sq. ft and is newly renovated. It has a king size bed that's super comfy, and you'll have a private bathroom with a walk-in shower. Nice patio too. There's a roughed in kitchen with anything you'll need. The TV and sound system are top of the line and it's a great space. There's also a small gym and chill out area in the basement of the main house. I live in the main with my son.
What else ...
I'm in one of the best locations in Victoria, 15 minutes to the airport, the ferry, the beach and downtown. Most people don’t want to leave the property once they arrive.
