Description
I was raised in New Jersey but my family is originally from Guatemala. I started visiting Guatemala more as an adult and began to love the country. I decided to move here and got a job teaching English. After 3 years I decided to start my own English teaching business. I've been going at it for almost 20 years now and I love it. Guatemala City is great if you know it well, which I do, there's lots to do, see and learn. I love spending time inside and outside of the city as much as possible. (I'm also on Couchsurfing.com under Harold Davila)

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We'll teach you Spanish, you'll have great food, comfortable accommodations and safety. You'll meet many great students, locals, and other volunteers. You'll experience the culture, traditions and celebrations of Guatamala.
On weekends and during off hours we'll have many opportunities to get out and do stuff. There are coffee shops in the city and restaurants, bars, and even dancing. Outside the city you can climb volcanos, swim the ocean, visit lakes, jungles, caves, rivers, lagoons and pools (natural pools)! Basically, we get out as often as possible. There's lots to see and do, near and far, and we'll be doing as much as possible. You also have the choice to stay at the house if you don't want to go out. But I'm sure you won't want to miss anything.
(Please be advised that you will be expected to pay for your own expenses on trips and any off hour activities outside the house).
Volunteering here provides a unique opportunity to experience Guatemala's beautiful culture and nature, all while making a huge difference in the community.Help
