    Description

Greetings from Adam, Erika, and Saulyte.

We are building tribe from our regenerative permaculture farm in a small village at the north of Lithuania. During all seasons we enjoy hosting people from all over the world, everyone is welcome to join.

Adam is from Australia, he is very passionate about ancient wisdom, he always has some interesting stories to tell.

He loves gardening, crafting herbal medicines and is a living library about medicinal mushrooms. Adam always enjoys having fire by the river with good company alongside deep conversations. He is very hard working, and his head is always full of ideas for which he usually needs a hand.

Erika is from Lithuania and she loves her home country, her lands and traditions, she is the one who can also teach you some Lithuanian.

Most of the time she is looking after her daughter. She loves cooking nourishing meals as she is very passionate about ancient diet, and she spends a lot of time in the garden. Her interests revolve around growing food, foraging herbs, making natural medicines, natural parenting, arts and crafts.

Saulyte is our daughter, she makes the farm a fun and alive atmosphere, she is truly hilarious. I think she would definitely enjoy having more kids around.

Bella is our dog and she is super friendly, she has a little community built up here with neighbours dogs which is really fun to observe.

Here we grow our own food using permaculture principles. We forage herbs, dry them and make tinctures and various balms. In autumn we love going mushroom picking since we live not far from the forest. We respect Nature and we expect the same from people who live alongside us.

OUR MINIMUM STAY IS 7 DAYS - We find that this is the bare most minimal requirement to give people a taste of what permaculture is ultimately about.

Our garden includes 46 x 20 m garden beds and multiple greenhouses. We usually need a hand in this area though we always have some fun projects happening such as planting trees, foraging, natural building, cooking, babysitting, making hot compost, seeding, transplanting, doing art among other activities.

We follow the rules of nature in our garden. Our teacher is nature and we follow the natural processes. We focus on highly intensive soil quality because that is the foundation of growing your own food.
We do not use any pesticides or herbicides.

Our farm style is finding long term solutions for problems which does not mean fast solutions which is usually simple as is nature. Our main focus is to have a large biodiversity of microorganisms in our soil, because that is the food for the plants.

Working with the soil for us is true alchemy.

This is a zero alcohol policy farm. 🌱

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

During the seasons we have few options regarding accommodation. There is a summer hut which has a double bed and bell tent on the river by the fire and we always welcome others to bring their own tent or hammock and even a campervan.

There is separate shared kitchen, shower, washing machine and outside compostable toilet which is shared by volunteers.

    We provide some essential foods.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Our farm is a nature retreat, we have a lot of hammocks around the property to relax in and have a read or listen to the song of birds. We have a 330 ft long zipline for those who like a little breath of adrenaline and a boat on the river.

We live close to the beautiful town called Birzai there is little old town to explore, big lake, countless rivers and the longest pedestrian bridge in Lithuanian to go for a walk, many nice cafes and little cute shops.

Birzai regional Park we live in is famous for sinkholes, there is plenty not far from our property to explore. We have one of the biggest Springs in Lithuania (Smardones saltininis) and a spring just a 3 min walk from our farm.

Nature around us has a lot to offer and there are a lot of abandoned Lithuanian homesteads to explore around also..
