  Hello :) I'm Anna, I'm German and I'm from Hamburg. I emigrated to Iceland in 2016. I have a son, Martin, who will be 2 years old in October. It's just the two of us at the moment because I'm going through a divorce, which is why I need help with his care. I'm a nurse and will be moving to the small village of Kristnes in the fall, which is about a 10-minute drive from Akureyri. There's a rehabilitation clinic there where I'll be working starting in October. Maddi (that's what Martin is called) will be at the kindergarten on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. I especially need support when I work evening or night shifts. I also have 5 horses with whom I spend my "me time," so to speak. Therefore, I need relief and support during these times as well. If you can ride, it's no problem to use the horses from time to time, if possible. For the duration of your stay, I will provide you with a car, excluding gas, which you can use as you wish during your free time. The minimum stay is one month, so Maddi can really get used to you. The longer the better. Since I want Maddi to learn German, we only consider German-speaking applicants. I look forward to hearing from you :)

  Ich bin Anna, bin Deutsche und komme aus Hamburg. Ich bin 2016 nach Island ausgewandert. Ich habe einen Sohn, Martin, der im Oktober 2 Jahre alt wird. Wir sind momentan nur zu zweit, da ich in Scheidung lebe, weswegen ich Unterstützung bei seiner Betreuung brauche. Ich bin Krankenschwester und werde im Herbst in das kleine Dörfchen Kristnes ziehen, welches mit dem Auto ca. 10 Minuten von Akureyri liegt. Dort ist eine Rehaklinik in welcher ich ab Oktober arbeiten werde. Maddi (so wird Martin gerufen) wird wochentags von 7.30 bis 17.30 Uhr im Kindergarten sein. Unterstützung brauche ich dann vor allem wenn ich Abendschichten oder Nachtschichten arbeite. Ich habe außerdem 5 Pferde, mit denen ich sozusagen meine "Me-time" verbringe. Daher benötige ich auch für diese Zeiten Entlastung und Unterstützung. Falls du reiten kannst ist es kein Problem hin und wieder auch die Pferde, nach Möglichkeit, zu nutzen. Für die Dauer deines Aufenthaltes stelle ich dir ein Auto, exklusive Benzin, zur Verfügung, welches du in deiner Freizeit nach Belieben nutzen kannst. Der Mindestaufenthalt wäre ein Monat, damit Maddi sich richtig an dich gewöhnen kann. Je länger desto besser. Da ich möchte, dass Maddi deutsch lernt, kommen für uns nur deutschsprachige Bewerber in Betracht. Ich freue mich auf deine Nachricht :)

  You'll have the opportunity to experience everyday life in Iceland. Kristnes itself is situated in beautiful surroundings with plenty of forest. There's a swimming pool nearby, and Akureyri with its attractions, shops, and amenities is also not far away. Lake Mývatn is not far away, but various waterfalls such as Góðafoss and Dettifoss are also easily accessible from here. Ásbyrgi is also worth a visit. Húsavík is about an hour away. Heading west, you can easily take a day trip to Dalvík, Grimsey, Hrísey, Siglufjörður, or Sauðarkrókur. In the immediate area, there are many attractions, swimming pools, museums, beautiful nature, a hospital, restaurants, whale watching, various shops, and plenty of animals—especially horses, cattle, and sheep :)

  Du hast die Möglicheit das alltägliche Leben auf Island kennenzulernen. Kristnes selbst liegt in wunderschöner Umgebung mit viel Wald drumrum. In unmittelbarer Nähe gibt es ein Schwimmbad und nach Akureyri mit seinen Sehenswürdigkeiten und Geschäften, bzw Infrastruktur ist es auch nicht weit. Mývatn ist nicht weit entfernt, aber auch verschiedene Wasserfälle wie Góðafoss oder Dettifoss sind von hier aus gut zu erreichen. Ásbyrgi ist ebenfalls einen Besuch wert. Húsavík ist ca eine Stunde entfernt. In Richtung Westen kann man gut eine Tagestour nach Dalvík, Grimsey, Hrísey, Siglufjörður oder Sauðarkrókur machen. Hier in der unmittelbaren Gegend gibt es viele Sehenswürdigkeiten, Schwimmbäder, Museen, wunderschöne Natur, Krankenhaus, Restaurants, Whale Watching, verschiedene Geschäfte und jede Menge Tiere- vor allem Pferde, Rinder und Schafe :)

  Help

  I especially need help with childcare, so that my son isn't alone when I work night shifts, for example, or so that I can take some time off. I also need help around the house, and it would be nice if you could cook something now and then.

  Wir brauchen vor allem Hilfe bei der Kinderbetreuung, bzw. damit mein Sohn nicht alleine ist wenn ich, z.b. Nachtschichten arbeite, oder damit ich mir mal eine Auszeit nehmen kann. Außerdem brauche ich Hilfe im Haushalt und es wäre gut, wenn du hin und wieder auch einmal etwas kochen könntest.

  We currently live between Akureyri and Húsavík, but will be moving to Kristnes in the fall. It's about 10 minutes from Akureyri. As things stand, I'll be moving into a three-bedroom apartment there, spread over two floors. There are two rooms upstairs: mine and Maddi's. Your room and the laundry room are on the lower floor, so you'd have some privacy if you wanted. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of the apartment yet, nor have I seen it myself, but I'll send them as soon as I get them. The bathroom, kitchen, and living room are shared.

  Wir leben momentan noch zwischen Akureyri und Húsavík aber werden im Herbst nach Kristnes ziehen. Das liegt ca 10 min. von Akureyri entfernt. So wie es jetzt aussieht werde ich dort eine Wohnung mit drei Schlafzimmern beziehen, welche auf 2 Etagen verteilt sind. Oben liegen zwei Zimmer, meins und Maddis. In der unteren Etage wäre dein Zimmer und der Wäscheraum, sodass du ebenfalls Privatsphäre hättest wenn du das wünschst. Leider habe ich noch keine Bilder der Wohnung und habe sie auch noch nicht selbst gesehen, sende aber sofort Bilder sobald ich die bekomme. Das Badezimmer, sowie Küche und Wohnzimmer werden gemeinsam genutzt.

  Since there are no bus connections to Akureyri, you'll need a driver's license. I don't mind if you're vegetarian or vegan, but you'd have to buy special soy products (like yogurt or something similar), tofu, etc. yourself. I'll, of course, provide things like vegetables and side dishes.

  Da es keine Busverbindungen nach Akureyri gibt, benötigst du einen Führerschein. Mich stört es nicht, falls du Vegetarier oder Veganer bist, allerdings müsstest du dann spezielle Produkte aus Soja (z.b. Joghurt oder so), Tofu usw. selbst einkaufen. Dinge wie Gemüse und Beilagen stelle ich selbstverständlich zur Verfügung.
