My partner and I had the best time at this amazing school. It was the perfect first workaway experience for us both. From the moment we arrived (and parked our RV in their playground) Veronika and her husband Pavel made us feel like part of the family. We helped out in and taught a couple of English classes every morning and the children are all a
… read more pleasure. They enjoyed teaching us about Czech culture and traditions and we did the same about English culture in return. It's such a community in there and so relaxed we immediately felt part of it. More like a home than a school. At the weekend we were invited to a BBQ in Veronika and Pavel's village and that invitation was extended to parents and children of the school. They really live and breathe the school even in their free time. Everyone was incredibly generous and shared their food with us and made the effort to try and speak to us in English. We had the opportunity to work with all the different classes at the school and we enjoyed them all. Our dog had the time of his life as many of the children wanted to pet and play with him in their break and lunch times. This experience far exceeded our expectations and we were sad to leave. If we could have, we'd have loved to stay longer. Towards the end of our stay, Veronika and Pavel were generous enough to treat us to a traditional Czech meal in a very nice restaurant along with their 6 year old daughter (who is not only adorable but incredibly smart and sweet too). It was delicious. Veronika, Pavel and all the other teachers at this school have something incredibly special and it's evident they all work hard and have poured their heart and soul into it. I'd not just recommend them as hosts but would urge other workawayers to go out out their way to visit this school as it is truly inspirational. Thank you to everyone involved in the school, particularly Veronika and Pavel, you are spectacular, keep on doing what you're doing, you are doing an amazing job and we'd love to return one day.

This was my first workaway and I could not have asked for a better experience! I was originally planning on staying 2 weeks but decided to extend it to 3 because I enjoyed it so much.
Veronika and Pavel are incredibly kind, open, accommodating, and thoughtful, they really made me feel like a part of the family. Anežka (their 5 year old daughter)
… read more is adorable, energetic and really smart. She will play an animal memory game with you, don’t go easy on her or she will beat you 😂. Aisha, their dog, is also extremely energetic and a joy to be around. Their house is really cozy and clean. Veronika and Pavel went out of their way to get me food that worked with my dietary restrictions, they let me use their laptop when mine suddenly stopped working, and they took me on a trip to Poland.
The entire school is a close-knit community, there are currently around 50 kids and you can get to know each one throughout your stay. Each child is truly unique and it’s a joy to see each of their personalities. Some will also shock you by how intelligent they are, you will learn just as much from the kids as they learn from you! They were really excited about a visitor from abroad, they’re really curious and asked me lots of questions. The staff were all super kind, and made an effort to get to know me even though some were shy to speak English.
The work you will be doing is very flexible, depending on your skill set and what you want to do. You can sit in other teachers classes as a student, you can teach classes with materials that other teachers have prepared, or you can prepare and teach your own classes. Different teachers will be asking you to join their classes, and you definitely should! The classes that I joined / helped / taught were English, PE, Geography, IT, and Science.
Although it’s a small town, there are many interesting cities nearby! Budapest, Vienna, Bratislava, and Brno are all just a few hours away by train, and you can easily visit them.Left by host for Workawayer (Daniel)
Hosting Daniel was our first experience with Workaway! He has proven to be a great help to our school. Initially he was supposed to stay for two weeks, but as soon as he found out that we had been short staffed he didn't hesitate and offered to stay with us longer.
We couldn't have asked for more enthusiastic and empathetic person. Daniel has a

He was also a pleasant guest in our family. He would always help with anything needed. Our five year-old loved spending time with him and learned many English words from him.
We hope he enjoyed our company as much as we did and hope to see him again in the future!
