We are a young family with two small children (twins, 3 years old) working on establishing a permaculture (mini)homestead in the Swedish countryside. Our passion is good food (all organic) and our goal is to produce as much of that as possible ourselves on our little property. In 2016, we have started up our own sustainable business, an organic food delivery service where we sell food from local farmers to private customers.

As an intercultural family, we speak Swedish, Swiss German and English at home. We have an active local network of people interested in sustainability and self-sufficiency, so it will be possible for you to even visit other homesteads in the area. There will be much happening and changing around this place this year so it will be interesting for you to witness different permaculture systems put into place.
In the spring, we will mostly be working on preparing the garden for the new growing season. Especially for April, we are looking for a helping hand, best someone who would like to learn how to start a vegetable garden. During the summer and in the fall, we work mostly in the garden and in the kitchen: planting, harvesting, and processing the food (drying, canning, fermenting, brewing beer,...). We are looking for people who like to work and spend time outside (in good and not so good weather), that are interested in food and in learning new things.
Swedish (Jonas is Swedish), English, German (Silvia is Swiss)
You will live in our guest bedroom in our house. We are also willing to host couples. We eat home made wholesome food including dairy and meat from organic and local production. We are open for people with vegetarian/vegan diets though.
What we can offer for you is a close to nature lifestile in the midst of one of Swedens prettiest landscapes. Our property has lakeview and is located in the biosphere reserve Östra Vätterbranterna. The area is great for hiking, cycling and fishing. Huskvarna and Jönköping are a 20 min car ride or 30 min bus ride away and we visit there regularly. The tourist town Gränna is just as near and during the summer certainly worth a visit. We are very interested in everything around self-sufficiency and permaculture and we like to share everything we know about it.
What we expect from you is that you are interested in what we are doing here and that you like to take responsability around the projects that you are involved in.
