Description
Greetings! By profession I am a Network Architect. By passion, a musician and an organic farmer.
I cultivate an eco farm - a peaceful environment away from civilization, about 25 minutes walk. The nearest village is 1.2 kms away.
It's an integrated farm cultivated with Avocados, jack fruit, native bananas, guavas, passion fruits and herbals coexisting with chicken, ducks and fishes.
Note: We prefer volunteers who are already in Kodaikanal or nearby, as travel is easier.
We can receive volunteers only between 10AM and 4PM local time.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Organic farming, observation of Flora, fauna and natural habitat in the region, interaction with the hill people and tribes around the locality.
As well, exposure to cook native recipes and growing own vegetables for consumption.
Every now and then one can escape to Kodaikanal town or Vattakanal which is a major tourist attraction, filled with lots of events.
Nearby village, Thandikudi is a heritage site, for those who would like to explore archaeological remains.Help

Do's and don't:
- Please respect local culture and traditions
- Maintain a tidy living space
- Minimize wastage of food and water
- Do not mix wet and dry wastes
- Do not engage with illegal activities and substances
- Do not venture outside the farm after sunset due to risk of wild animal presence
- Do not conflict with other volunteers or the local farm workersWhat else ...
This is situated mid hills, on the way to Kodaikanal, a popular and a busy tourist town.
10kms from this place is an heritage site with rich archaeological elements.
Public transport is available at a 3 mile distance.
The farm is closer to jungle woods, there will be wildlife activity after dusk, so it's not recommended to hike or venture out at after 7pm. The farm is electric fenced and safe inside.
We prefer volunteers who are already in Kodaikanal or within a 100 mile distance, it makes travel easier. Just a preference, anyone from anywhere are welcome!A little more information

They were creative in the farm activities and gelled well with the pets and other farm workers. We only wish they stayed longer, extending the positive vibe :)
