Ciao ragazze e ragazzi del mondo! We, Sibylle (1952) and Heinrich (1943) are from Germany and have been living in the Metallifere Hills of Tuscany for 30 years. Where once this was a busy mill, it has been transformed into a farm that still has access to a stream of fresh spring water.
We speak Italian, German and English. On our 4ha of land, we cultivate olive and fruit trees, plus we have a vegetable garden and bees (that give us delicious honey). We have chickens, a donkey,
2 geese, 4 dogs and 3 cats.
Heinrich was quite ill in the last few years and hasn’t got his power back, so we need someone to help maintain and carry out some of the work on the farm. Our son Leon (1990) lives in Massa Marittima and comes to work here often - he will be happy to get some help!
Actually we need a strong person who has the knowledge to work with chain-saws and brush-cutter/trimmer.
We live between Sasso Pisano (5km) and Monterotondo Marittimo in a remote part of the Tuscan hills.
We are happy to accommodate one helper at a time and look forward to hearing from you!
DIY and building projects
Help around the house
Organic synergic gardening, animal care, making honey, bee keeping, making wax, marmalade and sirup and Italian cooking.
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
We ask for some help in the garden, pruning, cleaning the stream/brook, taking care of the donkeys and chickens, any general maintenance and possibly some help around the house. People with practical skills, building and carpentry are especially welcome, because we have to repair a roof. Every year we make firewood for the winter.

By car you can visit many villages, a lake & river plus the sea side. If yo enjoy a longer walk, there is a brew pub, thermal baths (in Summer) and medieval villages.
There are also many walking tracks you can take through the hills.
On the property, we have an ancient Elder tree and Linden tree that you can spend hours under admiring their beauty.
You can try a range of home made teas, all created from trees and plants on the farm.
