    Description

Hi! My name is Vera (46), I live with my husband Alessandro (40) and my children Leonardo (8), Nilde (6) and Francesco (14 - who is with us a couple of days during the week) in a small town called Cervignano del Friuli, in the north-east of Italy. Our region is Friuli Venezia Giulia. We are 100 km far from Venice and 50 from Trieste, both amazing cities to visit. Our region is small and full of interesting sites to see: Aquileia, just 5 minutes by car, is one of the most beautiful archeological sites in Italy (dating back the roman times), Cividale del Friuli with its Langobardic past, Palmanova (a town shaped like a star!) and many other beautiful places to see. In 15 minutes by car you'll reach che seaside (Grado), the hills where excellent wine is produced... and in one hour you'll be on the Alps!
    What else?
My husband is a fireman, even if I'm an anthropologist at the moment I teach Italian and History at the high school but I also organize cultural events like Cinemambulante (a traveling cinema festival) with master classes about cinema production. Some years ago I used to be a documentarist and a Producer. Since I became a mum, just to embody the stereotype of the Italian mother :) I decided to give my children the priority and changed life. Something I'm used to, actually. I mean to change job, place to stay and way of live...

By now we are here, in this small and "easy to live" town, and try to do our best for our children and for the community where we live through an association of families we founded.

ps Ulisse is our cat, very independent cat...he comes, eats, sleeps a couple of ours on a chair and goes in search of adventure!

ps of ps I'm a good (and humble) cook !

Living with us will let you discover a part of Italy which is still unknown to the majority of foreigners. even if from the touristic point of view it offers a wide range of things to visit/explore. On the cultural and historical side Friuli is unique for the language spoken (friulano, very close to old latin) which is currently used in informal communication. we are a border region, close to Slovenia and Austria. MaybeTrieste is the city that best represents this cross-cultural area, where different traditions, languages and culinary skills mix.

  • Help

    Help

The reason why we are looking for you is that we would like to improve our English and we need some help with our children in the afternoon ( more or less 5 hours per day) playing with them, taking care of them when we're not in and, very important, teaching them English (talking to them, telling them stories or the way you'll prefer).

Hosting you will be like traveling in a different place of the world and this is such an interesting experience to do for us.
We look for one person (male or female is the same) who really likes children and their world, with educational interests.
Your help is required 5 days per week, 5 hours more or less.

We expect you to help in the house with very light housework.
If you have the driving license would be great!

I, with my husband Alessandro, will do our best to let you feel at home away from home.

We have one bathroom, shared. a bicycle to borrow and we can provide the meals as I love cooking.

    What else ...

Our town is very well connected to the rest of the region: we have the train station, several coaches, we're close to the Trieste airport (15 min) and the highway.
