Description
Hello, we are Gerben and Merle. We have a 5-year-old son named Siam and two cats, Simba and Nala. We reside on the beautiful green and tropical island of Penang in a house within a gated community in Tanjong Bungah. Our community offers fantastic shared facilities such as a gym and a pool. Additionally, we're just a 10-minute walk away from a small community park, shopping center, and a lovely outdoor food court.
As both my husband and I have busy jobs as teachers— I'm an Early Years Teacher and he's a PE teacher—we could use some assistance in and around the house. Furthermore, our son would greatly enjoy the company! Additionally, I am currently exploring the possibility of establishing a Forest preschool in Penang, so if you have any interest or experience in this area, this would be wonderful!
We are seeking a positive and energetic individual, couple, or small family (with one young child aged 0-5) to join us. As a Dutch couple, we would prefer Dutch or English-speaking individuals.

Living with us, travelers will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Dutch culture while experiencing the vibrant diversity of Penang. They'll learn about our international teaching, customs, traditions, and way of life, while also sharing their own cultural background and experiences.
Through daily interactions and shared activities, such as meals, jungle hikes, beach visits and other outings, travelers can gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of different cultures. Whether it's trying out new foods, learning a few Dutch phrases, or exchanging stories and perspectives, we believe that the experience of cultural exchange enriches everyone involved, fostering mutual respect, understanding, and friendship.

Help
The assistance we require would involve once or twice a week babysitting for Siam, as well as help with cooking once or twice a week. We also need someone to do the dishes daily and keep the house tidy. However, we already have a cleaner who comes in once a week, so we do not need any help with that.

You will have your own private bedroom within our house, furnished with a comfortable queen-size bed and an enclosed private bathroom. Additionally, there is a small adjacent bedroom with a single child-size bed.
