We have a small building project coming up renovating a small chalet during the summer.
We are running a light festival for a week October 2019 and would love to find some help for the weeks in run up and through the event. There is lots to do with B and B, gardening and some project work, but a lot around the festival times. The 2019 Halloween Hullabaloo will start in October, so we will look for workawayers who arrive in the middle of September and stay until mid November.
We are a small charity based on the North Coast of Ireland. Our objectives are all based on education, heritage and well being. We are working on several projects at any one time. We have a large family of boys, dogs and cats. We are a small farm, with pigs, hens and surrounded by farms. We have re-enactment events, multi period historical costume festivals. Our volunteers and well being groups are in need of facilities which we are looking at - e.g. compost loos.....our gardens need lots of attention and we need help with the events that we run. Our boys are all grown up, but visit regularly with friends.
We have a few new projects coming up through 2019 - mostly art and history.
We will be looking for workawayers who are good at cooking, gardening and cleaning to help through the summer tourist months - this gives great experience if you are wanting to get into the tourism industry.
Please note that we are unlikely to have places for short stays. Minimum stay is 3 weeks.

We have excellent access to many interesting sites, on the North Coast of Ireland are just a few miles from the beaches and sites (Giant's Causeway, Carrick-A-Rede, Dunluce and Portrush, etc). We have our own heritage site with an archaeological dig project in progress (digging wont start for a while). We run trips to various local sites and explain the local folklore. We are about 10 minutes from the trains to Belfast or Dublin if visitors wish to stray further than the local area. We have a very busy household during the summer, with the RNLI guys coming home about 7:30 each evening, projects always on the go, events and open days providing very good work experience and a fantastic opportunity to emmerse in the local culture.
We need help in the garden and around the house, cooking and cleaning, feeding animals, some general maintenance and some project work - we have a lot of wood on site, which is constantly being cut and can be used for various projects. Gardening experience is not essential as we can give guidance, and there are a lot of manual jobs that can be done if plants are not your thing.

Sleeping in the house (camping if you prefer:)) - breakfast and supper is always together - usually 8:30/9am. Lunch is moveable and usually a sandwich at table. Supper is always everyone together about 8pm. Occasionally we have nephews, nieces or friends staying who might be working lates in local hotel, but they try and eat lunch with us all. We are a smoking household, but no one smokes in the house. Beer and wine generally with supper. Some bedrooms are en suite, others are shared.
Time off can be spent walking, exploring or chilling. Large library on site. There is local night club in Portrush, and various bars and restaurants. We tend to eat in usually, keen on food and cooking. The boys will occasionally head for a bar, but we usually have our own craic at home - there are several musical instruments on site and love when visitors like to play their guitar and sing. Piano on site. Bus is a 15 minutes walk from the house, but usually we drop people into the village if they all fit in with each others activities. Taxis can be got, although would be rare to need them.
