Hello :)
We are a couple, Denis, carpenter, and Mona, caregiver, and we're in the process of starting the renovation of a old chalet located in the mountains at 820m in the beautiful Avançon valley, below Les Posses sur Bex. It's a very relaxed atmosphere here and very calm, peacefull, with wonderful views and beautiful walks around with opportunity to see wild animals. It's a bit lost, there's access road all year but complicated if snow but the good thing is that the train stop less than 10min walk away, the legendary "BVB" train.
Our dream is to create like a little farm with a lot of biodiversity. We want to have few goats or sheeps in our little stable and chickens. Develop the land following the principles of permaculture, create terraces, ponds, plant lots of trees and make a large vegetable garden. Currently we have about 5000m2 of sloping land with a small forest part and there's a lot to do !
The renovation of the old house is also challenging and we want to have a living place in harmony with nature, the more efficient possible and to use healthiest building materials. We love recovering objects to retype and low tech !
Last year we also finished building a tiny house and it was a great learning experience ! We can discuss of this if you are interested in a similar project. Currently we are looking for a place to put it not far from home.

We are both busy during the days week with our job. If you can help us during the evening or weekend it's better like this we can meet and share. You can learn beekeeping, carpentry. Hiking in beautiful place. Enjoy the quiet, birdsong and Relax !
Help
We need a little help for the renovation and there are plenty of things to do according to everyone's desires and possibilities. For example: to move a greenhouse, to plant trees, to finish building the wall of the chicken coop, the composter, to build 2 wooden dry toilets, to build a dry stone wall, to change the gutters, a lot of insulation, make ecological plaster, put tiles, and more and more will come little by little ! We also dreams of a small sauna in your barn, might be a cool thing for you to do for a short stay and to enjoy it before leaving! :)

Accommodation
Our place isn't a business place and non of the produce of the farm is sold to the public. We offer you accommodation and basic organic food. Your stay will be simple, with basic comforts as we are still in renovation. We have set up a small temporary kitchen upstairs while we redo the entire ground floor. You will have your own little private bedroom and we will share the kitchen and bathroom. We prefer short stays, 1 to 2 weeks, because we have never received helpers before, so it will be our first time !

" The BVB train will take you in about 45 minutes from Bex to Villars via Gryon and crossing magnificent alpine valleys. Take the time to gradually discover the surrounding landscapes that will unfold before your eyes along the way. View of the plain, view of the Grand Muveran and passage through pretty typical villages await you. Arriving in Villars, you can then change trains to go to Bretaye. The ski area in winter and the mountain pastures in summer will be available to you. "
