VOLUNTEERS NEEDED IN MAY AND JUNE 2019
This is an old farm and a living museum up on a mountain in the Norwegian fjords. It's a roadless place in the nature without electricity. Our aim is to keep the Norwegian traditions and culture alive.
Perhaps the biggest job we have is haymaking with scythe in late summer to autumn. By doing this we keep the landscape culture open and alive.
We are two-three people working and living on the farm with some animals from May-Sep.
Life at Skotet is peaceful and the view spetacular.

You will learn about Norwegian culture and tradition. You will experience life by the vast nature and learn how people lived and worked before electricity. You will learn about landscape culture, its importance for the ecological system.
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
We can receive volunteers during the whole open season. Our biggest need is in August, when it's time for haymaking. We wish to get volunteers who likes to be outside and do physical work. Other tasks can be cooking, taking care of the animals, fixing and repairing different things at the farm, choping firewoods etc.

Probably you will have your own room. All of us working there cook and eat together, our stove is wooden fired.
There are no showers. We wash ourselves in the river, the water is clean and cold. We also treat ourselves with a warm bath in a bathtub by the river that is heated by firewood, not something we do everyday but soaking out in nature is totally worthy the work.
Vegeterians or vegans are welcome.
The nature in this region is stunning. High mountain fjords, lots of hike opportunities. The world heritage Geiranger is 1,5 hour drive away. We believe we offer an extraordinary place and experience.
