Hi ! I’m Yanis, a 27-year-old kind, easy-going, open-minded and curious traveler.

Like everyone, I have my strengths and weaknesses, my light and my shadow.
To tell the truth, I haven’t fully figured out my path yet, nor exactly where my place is in this world, but I’ve learned one important thing over the years: life is short, and it deserves to be lived fully and consciously.

I don’t want fear or comfort to limit my growth. I want to explore new places, cultures and ways of thinking/living, challenge myself, and keep evolving.
This new Australian chapter feels like a transition for me — a moment to broaden my horizons, embrace change, gain new perspectives,
and build stronger foundations for the person I am becoming.

What more could I expect than to meet you, connect through genuine conversations, share laughter, help with dedication and good energy, learn new skills and learn from each other.
I am responsible, adaptable, and ready to contribute with seriousness — but always with a smile!

Naturally curious and aware of the importance of communication (including on a global scale), I wish to consolidate my English. I am also willing to learn the basics of Spanish (or any other langue) if the opportunity arises. I consider myself more of a student than a teacher; however, if I can share my knowledge with those who wish to learn more about French, I would be delighted.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I have a degree in social work which allows me to support diverse populations (children, teenagers, adults, people with disabilities, older people, etc.) in roles involving reception, information, support, animation and social mediation. This led me to work in leisure centers, sports associations, and also with adults with disabilities for relatively short periods since these experiences were formative and enriching but didn't really align with the career path i envisioned for myself in the long run 🤷‍♂️
Lately I’ve done 6 months of apple thinning and harvesting in a large orchard in France (from june to november). This proved to me that I could be disciplined, patient, resilient, and enduring, despite all kinds of external conditions and the tasks assigned to me.
I also have experience in grounds maintenance, home renovation, restaurant industry, delivery/logistics and handling/manual labor in general. Aside from the fruit picking, restaurant, delivery and handling, I want to clarify that although I have done these kinds of things, it was often on a voluntary basis, with support, and not professionally, which does not make me an expert or specialist.

Was noch ...

- Passionate about music and writing (I'm eclectic) and mainly about : reggae, hip-hop, rap, beatbox. An exceptional means of expression and a source of well-being !!
- Passionnate about reading whether it be spirituality, philosophy, personal development, adventure novels, etc. Although it is a healthy source of guaranteed escape, I also find it a good way to improve concentration, to broaden knowledge, develop critical thinking skills and enrich vocabulary.
- Passionnate about sports and physical activities : I am a former ice hockey and roller hockey player who played for 3 and 7 years respectively in a club. This has given me so many emotions, surprises, joys and values ​​such as a taste for effort, personal improvement, altruism and so on. I like hiking too, playing basketball, football, tennis, ping-pong and many other things.
- Passionnate about travel (and everything that goes with it) : From my entire year of civic service as a volunteer in an international reception village perched in the mountains of the Hautes-Alpes, to hitchhiking in my country, to living for a month in a Buddhist meditation center with monks and nuns, to my pilgrimage linking France and Spain (3 months of walking and covering more than 1500 km) and my experiences as a workawayer working on a farm in Wales and doing gardening in England for about 2 months in total. This taught me a lot, and i still have plenty of things to see, discover and learn :)
