Hola!

Me llamo Sofía. Estoy viajando por Suramérica y Centroamérica. Estoy buscando experiencias que me dan un sentido de aventura y donde puedo aprender algo nuevo. Me encanta la naturaleza y el medioambiente. También me gusta charlar y conocer las personas que encuentro en mi recorrido.

Profesionalmente, soy ingeniera mecánica. Trabajé por dos años en los aparatos médicos. Mi lengua nativa es ingles, aunque hablo español bien en conversaciones y quiero mejorarla.

Mis 4 habilidades más aplicables son: Experiencia en atención al cliente: Trabajé en la industria alimentaria durante cuatro años y como guía al aire libre durante 4 años. Sé cómo tener una buena actitud y aportar una energía positiva a mis interacciones con los clientes. Siempre estoy dispuesto a adaptarme a las necesidades de las personas o situaciones.
Experiencia en liderazgo al aire libre: Como guía de expediciones al aire libre, guié grupos en expediciones de senderismo, senderismo con mochila, kayak, piragüismo y acampada. Me encanta estar en la naturaleza y mostrar a otras personas cómo pueden encontrar formas de apreciar el mundo natural que les rodea. He sacado a personas de su elemento y les he mostrado cómo sentirse cómodas con la incomodidad. Aunque mi licencia ya está caducada, fui formado como Primer Respondedor en la Naturaleza para proporcionar atención médica en zonas remotas.

Experiencia en Ingeniería Mecánica: En la universidad, estudié Ingeniería Mecánica con especialización en Energías Renovables y Flujos Ambientales. Después, trabajé durante 2 años desarrollando dispositivos médicos para cirugía. Me encanta resolver problemas y pensar en formas de solucionarlo.
Gestión de Proyectos: Mientras trabajaba en el campo de dispositivos médicos, llevaba nuevos proyectos de ideas a realidad. Sé cómo diseñar un proyecto, identificar investigaciones pertinentes, evaluar riesgos, hacer prototipos, probar conceptos y buscar recursos.

My 4 most applicable skills are:

Customer service experience: I worked in the food industry for four years and as an outdoor guide for 4 years. I know how to have a good attitude and bring a positive energy to my interactions with clients. I am always ready to adapt to the needs of people or situations.

Outdoor leadership experience: As an outdoor expeditions guide, I led groups on expeditions hiking, backpacking, kayaking, canoeing, and camping. I love being in nature and showing other people how they can find ways to appreciate the natural world around them. I have taken people out of their element and showed them how to be comfortable with discomfort. Although my license is now expired, I was trained as a Wilderness First Responder to provide medical care in the backcountry.

Mechanical Engineering Experience: In college, I studied Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Renewable Energy and Environmental Flows. Afterwards, I worked for 2 years in developing medical devices for surgery. I love solving problems and thinking about ways to fix things.

Project Management: While working in the medical device field, I would take new projects from ideas to reality. I understand how to design a project, identify pertinent research, assess risks, make prototypes, test concepts, and source resources.
