Beschreibung

Hi! We're Saku (29) and Takumi (29), two guys from Japan coming to Norway on a Working Holiday from August 2026 for one year.

We're looking for meaningful cultural exchange through everyday life in Norway — not just sightseeing. We want to work hard, learn practical skills, meet local people, and experience Norwegian nature and community life as much as possible.

Saku has worked as a full-stack software engineer for 7 years, including 3 years leading a development team. Through both engineering and management experience, he developed strong problem-solving skills and enjoys finding practical solutions not only for technical issues, but also for everyday challenges and hands-on situations. He’s the kind of person who likes to think independently, stay organized, and help improve things wherever possible.

Although his career has mainly been desk-based, he has always enjoyed physical activity and trains regularly. He’s physically fit and comfortable with demanding work — he can bench press 100kg — and is excited to spend more time doing practical, hands-on tasks outside of office life.

His hobbies include fitness training, manga, cello, art museums, and learning new skills. He’s especially interested in DIY, farming, building, and practical crafts that can be learned through real experience.

Takumi is an illustrator and artist, as well as a dancer and pianist. (Instagram: @t__umi__)He hopes to immerse himself in Norwegian landscapes, wildlife, and everyday life, and bring those experiences into his creative work.

At the same time, he has also worked in cafés and delivery jobs, so he’s very comfortable with physical work and busy environments. He enjoys practical tasks, adapts quickly, and likes staying active.

He also loves gardening and takes care of many plants at home. Working with plants and nature is something he genuinely enjoys, and he would be very happy to help with gardening or outdoor work.

Previously, he also worked in childcare as a nursery teacher for 3 years, so he’s patient, calm, and good at communicating with people in shared living environments.

We think we balance each other well — one analytical, one creative — and we’re both adaptable, respectful, and motivated to contribute wherever needed.

We’d be happy to help with:
- Farming and gardening
- DIY and physical work
- Cleaning and organizing
- Cooking and household help
- Painting and creative projects
- Animal care
- Any practical daily tasks

We’re both non-smokers and take shared living seriously. We try to be tidy, considerate, and easy to live with.

We also love cooking Japanese food and would be very happy to share meals with our hosts.

We’re comfortable around dogs and most animals. Saku has a mild cat allergy, so homes with many indoor cats may require a little care, but we’re generally flexible and happy to discuss it.

More than anything, we hope to build genuine connections, contribute meaningfully, and experience real everyday life in Norway during our Working Holiday.

Was noch ...

We're planning to be in Norway from July 2026 to June 2027 on a Working Holiday Visa.

Our rough plan:
- Summer (Jul-Sep): Southern Norway / Fjord region — enjoying the long days and outdoor life
- Autumn (Sep-Nov): Central Norway — farm work, hiking, experiencing the changing seasons
- Winter (Dec-Mar): Northern Norway (Tromsø area) — northern lights, snow activities
- Spring (Apr-Jun): Western Norway / Bergen area — wrapping up our year

We love board games, hiking, swimming, and exploring local food markets. Saku enjoys crafts and Takumi loves sketching landscapes. We're both early risers and prefer staying active throughout the day.
