Hi! I’m Pavla, I’m 32 years old and I come from the Czech Republic. I’m new to Workaway, so I haven’t done any projects through this platform yet but I do have quite a bit of experience living, working and volunteering abroad, and I’m really excited to start this new chapter.

What makes me happiest is knowing that what I do has a positive impact. I work remotely for a non-profit organisation that helps abandoned and neglected dogs in Romania by supporting small local shelters with funding, food and other supplies. In my free time, I also volunteer in a local cat shelter. At home I share my life with two lovely cats and my partner, who happily looks after them whenever I travel.

I love being active and spending time outdoors: hiking in the mountains, sleeping in a tent or a mountain hut, scuba diving, skiing, acro-yoga, gym… basically anything that gets me moving and close to nature. When I slow down, you’ll usually find me with a book (I love classic British literature) or playing the piano.
I also love creating things with my hands. I sew my own clothes because I adore vintage style and it’s often hard to find exactly what I’m looking for.

I’ve always tried to travel in a way that feels meaningful. A few years ago I volunteered in Costa Rica, helping to clean beaches and build an eco-centre in the jungle, and over the years I’ve spent a lot of time abroad through study exchanges in the UK, Finland and Sweden, a summer job in the USA, and a cultural exchange in Indonesia. These experiences taught me how powerful it is to live and work together with people from different cultures.

My personal motto is “Be the change you want to see in the world.”

In 2026 I’m heading to Canada on a work visa, and since my job is fully remote, I’m not looking for paid work. Instead, I’m hoping to support projects that care about nature, animals and local communities. I’d love to exchange skills, stories and positive energy with hosts who feel the same way.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I’m a hands-on, practical person who genuinely enjoys helping out where it’s needed. Working with animals is a big part of my life, so I’m very comfortable with feeding, cleaning, grooming and taking care of them: whether it’s dogs, cats or other animals. I don’t mind getting dirty and I’m happy to do all the less glamorous but important tasks that keep things running smoothly.

I also enjoy physical and outdoor work. Gardening, planting, watering, weeding or helping around a farm or eco-project feels natural to me, and I like seeing tangible results from my work. I’m also happy to help with basic repairs, maintenance and DIY projects. I’m not afraid to try new things and I learn quickly.

Creativity is another of my strengths. I love sewing and making things with my hands, whether it’s repairing clothes, creating something new or helping with simple craft or upcycling projects. I enjoy working carefully and paying attention to detail.

Thanks to my remote job and international background, I’m reliable, organised and used to working independently. I’ve lived and worked in different countries, so I adapt easily, communicate well and feel comfortable in multicultural environments. Whether you need help with animals, in the garden, with everyday tasks or creative projects, I bring a positive attitude, strong work ethic and a genuine desire to contribute.

Was noch ...

I’m an easy-going and curious person who enjoys good conversations, shared meals and learning from the people I meet along the way. I love simple, slow moments just as much as adventure, whether it’s cooking together, having tea after a long day of work, or watching the sunset after being outside.

I really enjoy cultural exchange and getting to know how people live in different parts of the world. I’m used to being in international environments and I’m respectful, open-minded and happy to adapt to different lifestyles, routines and house rules.

I’m also very comfortable working independently when needed, especially because I work remotely, and I actually appreciate having some quiet, focused time to myself. I can be a bit introverted at times and I really enjoy working or being in nature on my own. At the same time, I also like being part of a small team and helping create a warm, positive atmosphere around me.

And of course, if there’s music, books, nature walks or animals involved, I’m always happy.
