Beschreibung

Hey! my name is Parker from Niagara Falls, Canada. One important thing to know about me is that I travel with my best adventure buddy — my dog, Loki (pronouced Lock-y) who I would need to bring along with me. Last year, while backpacking around Europe and volunteering through Workaway, I ended up bringing him home from the farm I was volunteering at in the Italian Alps. So, he’s become my little road-trip companion and a pretty important part of my travels!

He’s a one-year-old Lagorai Pastore, a rare and ancient Italian breed. He’s a well-behaved farm dog who loves being outdoors and gets along well with other dogs. He can be a little timid and awkward around new people at first, but once he has some time to warm up, he’s very sweet and affectionate. He’s honestly the perfect road-trip dog and loves coming along for the adventure. I have plenty of photos of him in my album! Because he’s a must-bring for me, I’m looking for Workaway opportunities that would be happy to accommodate both of us. If having a dog isn’t possible, no worries — we’ll just keep looking for the right fit.

I’ve spent four summers tree planting in British Columbia, so I’m used to hard work, early mornings, and being outdoors in all kinds of weather. I love animals, especially dogs, being in nature, and spending time with people who are genuine and open-minded. I’m pretty chill by nature — more of an observer than a loud presence — but I’m always up for an adventure, especially if it involves mountains, animals, or good conversations.

I’m currently looking to keep traveling, reconnect with people I’ve met along the way, and experience different parts of Canada through volunteering and meaningful exchanges. I’d especially love to explore more of Canada, including the East Coast, and experience daily life in different communities. I’m excited to contribute wherever I go, meet new people, and experience daily life in a way that feels more intentional and connected.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I have a solid background in outdoor work, especially from spending three seasons tree planting in British Columbia — a job that taught me persistence, endurance, and how to work hard in different conditions. I’ve also worked for several years at my local café, where I developed strong people skills and enjoyed connecting with the community. Over the years, I’ve done various odd jobs and am happy to help with gardening, painting, dog walking, or general maintenance.

I studied kinesiology, which gave me a good understanding of health and movement. I’m a quick learner, organized, calm under pressure, and comfortable working with both people and animals — especially dogs! I’m hands-on, adaptable, and always eager to contribute and learn new skills.

Was noch ...

In my free time, I love listening to music, hiking, and exploring new places. Lately, I’ve been really into playing cards — cribbage is my current favorite! I also enjoy making fires and sitting around them, sharing stories or just relaxing. Hanging out with friends, people-watching, climbing, and even sewing are some of the little things that make me happy. I’m always up for trying new experiences and learning new skills along the way.
