Beschreibung

Hi, I’m Nikita - an engineer by trade and a community storyteller at heart.
I split my time between India and the U.S., and I travel to learn from people who build, grow, cook, and care for their places. I’m calm, curious, tidy, and I show up on time. Give me a clear goal and I’ll either figure it out or ask good questions :)

A little more about me:
I’m new to Workaway, but not new to wandering. I grew up in India, spending weekends hopping between small towns - volunteering at community events, documenting crafts, gardening & farming and helping homestays set up simple websites. A couple of years ago I moved to the U.S. for my studies. Now that I’ve wrapped them up, I’m excited to get back to what fills my cup: volunteering, traveling slow, and meeting people who care about their place.

I can cook Indian food for you. I won’t claim “best cook,” but I’m a good cook sometimes 😄. I keep kitchens clean, do the basics (laundry, dishes, sweeping, organizing), and I’m happy to learn whatever else you need.

I’m a bit of a computer freak who also loves the outdoors; a light adventurer (early hikes, long walks, new streets), working on my health goals this year, and an amateur sketcher/painter who leaves little doodles in guestbooks. Laptop in the day, coffee and stories at sunset - that’s my pace.

What motivates me & makes me happy:
- Swapping skills and stories over a cup of coffee at sunrise
- Making something useful
- Doing little things for people intentionally
- Learning local crafts, food, and traditions from people who care
- Teamwork with kind, reliable folks
- Long walks, markets, mountains, oceans, and any place with stars
- I love watching sunsets & moon & sunflowers 🌻
- Shared meals, good music, cultural exchange and spaces that feel warm and welcoming

I’m a hands-on generalist: a software/tech person who’s just as happy weeding a garden, repainting a room, or cooking dinner for everyone. I learn quickly, adapt fast to new places, and I don’t shy away from early mornings or heavy work.
