Beschreibung
Shanti: Hi my name is Shantilyan, but i go by Shanti. I studied cultural anthroplogy in the Netherlands where i met my partner Net. Because we were both interested in learning Spanish, we decided to move to Spain (Castellon) where we did a masters in Peace and Conflict Studies. I currently work as a tour guide in south india for German groups during the season while I figure out how else I would like to earn a living, and sometimes spend the summer in Europe.
I'm passionate about sports (fitness included), reading ( if its a good book I'll gobble it up in two days or three days), motorcycling (in rural india kids learn to drive a two wheeler by the time they are 11 or 12 and the love usually stays), listening to music while cooking ( I also play the guitar, just campfire guitarist level though), having good company (a few of our friends from the master are in spain which is one of the reasons we liketo spend time here) and last but not least good food (indian food is amazing and incredibly cheap, in India I eat out once a day at least). I've travelled a lot (mainly in Europe and India, but also a few other places) and I truly believe its the best thing you can do with your money.
Net: Hi! My name is Net, I am 26 years old and love living in new places. After studying in Spain two years and seeing a lot of India I am currently doing volunteer work in Greece. This summer I would love to spend together with my partner in Spain so we can keep practicing our Spanish and help someone out in the meantime. In my free time I enjoy reading, writing, drawing and going on walks.
I like outside work, love to learn new skills and I am always up for a creative project!
Some info about where i grew up if you're interested (Shanti):
I grew in the mountains on a 1.5 acre piece of land on the outskirts of a small village called Vattakanal situated at 2000 meters in the western ghats of South India. Living on a large property meant I spent countless hours over the years doing tasks that come hand in hand with living in such a place (mainly chopping down our invasive tree species for firewood and gardening /maintenance). Having no electricity for several hours a day was a normal part of life. Sometimes they lasted more than a day. Our property has no water connection (or a road connection for that matter, its a 15 minute walk to the villag road), which meant everything needs to be carried down the forest to out place, and if the summers were harsh and our streams ran dry, we had to source drinking water from the surrounding area. Though it wasn't always easy, i knew i was blessed to be living in such a beautiful placesurrounded by trees, mountains, and quiet. That's why i prefer that life to a life in the city to this day. If you've made it this far, thanks for reading! -
