Beschreibung

We are Nada, Dima, and Daniel — a family of three from Quebec, currently on one of the biggest adventures of our lives : relocating to Nova Scotia.

Nada (that's me, 38) — I'm hands-on and curious. I like working with my hands, figuring things out, and showing up fully wherever I am. I've done Workaway before and I know what a real exchange feels like. I'm bilingual French/English, I drive, and I don't shy away from hard work or new challenges.

Dima is my partner. She currently works as a cook in a seniors' residence — so feeding a household is genuinely her comfort zone. She cooks from scratch, all kinds of cuisines, and brings real warmth to any kitchen she's in. Beyond cooking, she's hands-on with gardening, animal care, and general housekeeping. She adapts easily and works hard.

Daniel is our son, 27 months old. He's been travelling since he was tiny — new places and new faces are just his normal. He's curious, funny, helpful in his own way, and sociable enough to become part of the household within hours.

We will be in Nova Scotia from May 16 to 26, scouting the land, the communities, and the right region to build a small farm (chickens, a horse, a garden) and eventually open a café-brunch rooted in local life. Staying with people who are already living close to the land is exactly the kind of experience we're looking for. Not to observe — to participate.

We're easy to live with, we clean up after ourselves, and we bring good energy to the table — sometimes literally.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I've lived and worked on a farm for two months — building bamboo fences, planting trees, and caring for animals including horses and chickens. That experience didn't just teach me skills, it confirmed the life I want to build. I'm comfortable with physical work, I follow through, and I show up ready. New tasks don't intimidate me — I've learned that a first time at everything is just part of the process.

Was noch ...

We are not looking for a transaction. We're looking for a real exchange — shared meals, conversations at the end of the day, learning from people who have already made the leap we're about to make. We bring ourselves fully, and we leave a place better than we found it. If you have kids, Daniel will fit right in. If you have animals, we'll take care of them like our own. We're the kind of guests that feel like family by day three.
