Hello there!! I'm Megan - a woman in my mid-20s looking to travel and explore different cultures before I start graduate school in the Netherlands in September 2026. I love to meet and learn about people from all different walks of life :)

A bit about me:
I am originally from the Netherlands, and moved to the US when I was 7 years old with my family. I spent my childhood moving around quite a bit, but eventually my family settled in Massachusetts. I graduated from university in Vermont with a degree in Community & International Development.

For the past two years, I have been a vegetable farm apprentice at a 30-acre organic farm in Massachusetts. As you can imagine....this was a challenge...but extremely rewarding. I learned the ins and outs of operating a small farm and played an integral role in our small team of 6. I feel very passionately about small, local agriculture and all the benefits it can bring to communities!

I have traveled quite a bit throughout Europe, and spent 3 months studying abroad in Scotland during university. I have volunteered in Hawaii through WWOOF for about 3 months. I love to travel and feel most inspired when I'm doing this.

My favorite hobbies include yoga, aerial arts, reading and swimming! I recently completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training as well.

A huge motivator for traveling right now is that I would love to expand my language skills. Dutch was my first language, but since moving to the US I've become quite rusty. I am looking to find Dutch speakers who will help me practice. I took about 5 years of French in middle and high school but am out of practice. I would love help (re)learning this language. I am happy to help anyone who is trying to learn English!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I have significant experience working on organic vegetable farms, and as I mentioned, just finished my second year as a vegetable farm apprentice! I've learned the inner workings of running a farm, as well as doing all of the work associated with it (seeding, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, washing, etc). I also have experience driving tractors on the farm (plowing, mowing, harrowing, spreading fertilizer, cultivating)! Beyond technical skills, I built on my leadership and management experience through supervising a 15-20 person summer crew and training new staff in our greenhouse.

I have lots of customer service experience from working farm stands, farmers markets, as well as restaurants and cafes.

I am a very hard worker, and while difficult, I really enjoy the physical nature of my job as a farmer. I am a quick learner and bring a very positive and enthusiastic attitude to any environment.

Was noch ...

I love to be active and move my body! Mostly through yoga, which I have been practicing for a few years. I also enjoy to run and dance. I love to go on walks and hikes outside. Generally, any activity outside and in nature is appealing to me :) I am an avid reader as well...mostly fiction but since graduating school I've taken up reading more nonfiction.

I am a huge animal lover. I grew up with abundant pets around me...currently my family has 3 dogs, but growing up we had cats, lizards, snakes, hamsters, guinea pigs, and more! I've also worked with farm animals including alpacas, goats, sheep, chickens, cows, and pigs.

I love to grow food and garden, and have worked for varying amounts of time on different vegetable farms. I enjoy cooking and baking as well, and would enjoy learning more about cooking and increasing my confidence there.
