Bonjour! Hi! Hola! Ciao!

I'm Maude from Montréal, Québec. I speak French, English, and Spanish, and I'm currently learning Italian. Ever since I was young, I've had a passion for plants - a fitting interest, given that my last name means "the flower" in French :-). I love gardening, being in touch with nature, listening to the birds sing, and hearing the wind rustle through the trees. I also cherish watching the magnificient St. Lawrence River flow by.

I also have a fondness for people. With over 20 years of experience as a project manager and facilitator of focus groups in marketing and social research, my job has provided me the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life. I am open-minded and always eager to learn new things. Additionally, I have experience in tourism, having worked as a tour guide in Old Québec City during my university years.

I traveled extensively in my twenties, less so after having my children. But now that they are grown, I have more time. And I am fortunate to have a job that allows me to take a short sabbatical every year.

I want to travel, but not just in any way. Meeting people, sharing cultures, languages, and ideas adds a whole new dimension to the travel experience, and that’s what I'm seeking. One of my fondest memories from my trip around the world in 2003-2004 was when I helped to save sea turtles with an NGO in Guatemala. I met extraordinary people there and felt that I could make a difference, however small.

Twenty years later, the opportunities for volunteering have become endless! I was thrilled to discover workaway.info. I volunteered in Colombia (2024) and Morocco (2025) and planning to do it again in 2026!
