Beschreibung

Hi, I’m Maya! I currently live in Leipzig studying philosophy.

I was born in Vancouver and returned there often on holidays with my family. After finishing high school, I went back for a six-month internship at a cultural non-profit. I got to know my birthplace in a more personal way, and it has made me very connected to the place.

I'm very interested in traveling and languages. Last winter, I spent an Erasmus semester in Thessaloniki (Greece). I began learning Greek there and hope to go back soon to the wonderful food and people! I also recently started learning French again and love French music. I’d love a language exchange with French or Greek speakers.

I’m really passionate about music and play piano, ukulele, and love playing records at home. I'm always up for singing or making music together :) I also love creative activities like writing and recently, origami! I love to cook as well. Also, I enjoy being near water – canoeing on the canals is one of my favourite things to do in Leipzig :)

In general, I‘m a calm, but curious, open-minded and social person. I also like to organize, plan, and make little lists. My friendships are really valuable to me and I’m a communicative, social person. I enjoy being around children and animals.

I look forward to the more personal experience of being part of everyday life in a family or community. I’m also excited to meet new people and learn some practical skills along the way :)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I’m communicative, open, and curious – especially when it comes to meeting new people and understanding different perspectives. I’m also empathetic with children and animals. I tend to bond quickly with pets :)

I can offer a language exchange for a French/Greek speaker who wants to learn German/English. I’ve spent a year studying abroad in English and lived in Canada for six months, so I feel very comfortable speaking the language (C1 level).

I like being creative– like making collages, doing origami, so I could support any creative projects around the house. I also play music and would be happy to help someone starting to learn the ukulele or piano.

I’m good at organizing, tidying, and bringing structure to things – whether it’s a bookshelf or, even better, your record collection :D I also really enjoy cooking and would love to prepare and share meals together.

While I like having plants at home, I’ve never learned how to properly care for a garden – I'm curious to learn more about it!
