Beschreibung

Hello, my name is Mathias, I’m a French engineering student currently in my third year at ICAM in Toulouse.

I’m planning to travel in Southeast Asia from June to September, starting in Vietnam, then Laos and Cambodia. Through this experience, I really want to discover local cultures, understand how people live, and see how it differs from my life in France. I’m also looking to meet new people, share experiences, and challenge myself to become more independent and confident in communication.

I have a good level of English (Cambridge B2), and I’m comfortable having conversations and teaching basic to intermediate English. I also speak some Spanish.

I have experience working with children. I have been coaching young kids in fencing and I am also a certified referee. I spent one year volunteering with an association supporting children with autism, where I helped organize and supervise activities. In addition, I have been responsible for groups of young people during a pilgrimage in Lourdes for the past two years, organizing activities and ensuring everything runs smoothly.

I am a sociable and open-minded person, I enjoy meeting new people and learning from different cultures. I am quite active but also appreciate calm moments. With children, I am patient, playful and pedagogical.

I would be happy to help with teaching English or French, playing with children, helping with homework, or assisting with daily tasks at home. Even if I don’t know how to do something, I am always motivated to learn and I adapt quickly.

I am generally available for stays of around 2–3 weeks, but I am flexible depending on the host and the experience.

I chose to travel with Workaway because I want to experience a culture from the inside, not just as a tourist. I would like to understand how people live, share daily life, and learn from real experiences.

For me, it’s also a way to meet new people, improve my communication skills, and become more independent. I enjoy stepping out of my comfort zone, discovering new ways of living, and building meaningful connections.

I hope to contribute positively to the host while learning as much as possible from this experience.
