My name is Maria, I’m a 24 year-old girl from Girona, Spain, and I’m very excited to take on a fresh new adventure! I have always been full of energy: enthusiastic, outgoing, big dreamer and very friendly.

Right now, what motivates me most is my career and sport, because both are about constantly growing and becoming better than I was yesterday

On the other hand, what brings me the greatest joy is spending time with my family and friends, being in nature and enjoying good food. My favorite days are those with I spend outdoors with the people that I love, ending the day with a delicious meal and great company.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Two years ago, I graduated with a degree in Law, and I’m currently studying for a Master’s degree to become a qualified lawyer. At the moment, I work at a consultancy and in the afternoons, I do an internship at a law firm.

I speak three languages: Catalan and Spanish (both native), and English at a C1 level.

I’ve also had jobs not directly related to my field of study, such as:
- Rowing instructor for beginners. Sport has played a big role in shaping who I am, especially rowing which I practiced for 10 years and even competed with the Spanish national team.
- Waiter.
- Cashier at a Jazz Festival

I also hold a valid driver’s license.

Skills: I’m good with children and enjoy gardening

Personal Strengths: I’m communicative, responsible, a team player, hardworking, and always maintain a positive attitude.

Was noch ...

This is my first time on a Workaway experience. I’m really excited about this opportunity because it’s unlike anything I’ve done before and I’m ready for the challenge.

I’m available throughout the month of August, and possibly a few days into early September, although I don’t have the exact dates just yet. I’ll be finishing an internship in July and starting classes again in September, so August is my one free window, and I’d love to spend it doing something meaningful.

The past two years have been intense, academically and professionally, and I know that the next few years will be even more demanding. That’s why I’m looking for a month-long break to reset, step away from my routine, clear my mind, and return recharged.

Another goal of mine is to improve my spoken English. Although I have a C1 level, I don’t get much time to practice during the year. A full immersion experience would be the perfect way to sharpen my skills while engaging in something completely new.
