Hello, I'm Lea and I just graduated in International Relations and Global Affairs in Italy. I'm really excited to explore different cultures around the world. I want to go to Asia because I studied it, but now I want to experience it firsthand. I'm fascinated by the mix of cultures and traditions there, and I'd love to discover them.

As for my personality, I'm a positive and outgoing person who enjoys simple things like being in nature, having interesting conversations with friends, and watching beautiful sunsets. I'm calm and disciplined but always up for a good laugh. I love working with people and meeting open-minded individuals to share experiences with.

Two of my biggest passions are sports and photography. I played basketball since I was six, and I always participated in competitions of many different sports. While I love photography because it lets you capture special moments and emotions. Additionally, I really enjoy working with kids. I've always been committed to helping those in need, especially children. I've volunteered with children, starting at a summer camp for kids with disabilities when I was sixteen. Later, in high school, I was responsible for making sure every child felt safe and respected.

My ultimate goal is to work in the field of human rights, particularly focusing on giving every child a better future. I believe it's our responsibility to ensure they have a fair start in life. Even before starting my post-graduate academic journey, I'm eager to take direct action.

I believe Workaway will allow me to meet beautiful hosts and volunteers while travelling the world. I am a very outgoing and curious person ready to try new experiences. I have been always described as an adventurous person, as I started travelling at a young age alone.
I can't wait to start my volunteering journey with Workaway meet new friends and create long-lasting friendships from all around the world.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I gained experience with kids from a young age. My first official experience, aside from babysitting my cousins, was as a volunteer in a summer camp in my region, Friuli Venezia Giulia, in Italy. We were a group of young volunteers of the age of sixteen, and we had to take care of kids with special needs. The kids' ages ranged from kindergarten until middle school. Our task was to create daily activities with the kids, that included learning how to share, playing new sports and teaching some subjects.

Later on, in my Artistic High School, I was chosen as one of the members' young kids safety advocates. We were responsible for ensuring that every student felt secure and respected. I was there to provide support whenever needed. Once a week we had a session with a psychologist who would teach us about what is bullying and cyberbullying, how to recognise the behaviour of a bully and how to help the victim in different scenarios.

Last year I volunteered as an online tutor for kids at the middle school coming from abroad in Italy. I was mainly teaching English to a kid coming from a difficult background, but also I was helping him to get integrated into our new culture.

I loved working with the kids, and young people as I believe is something that enriches us, we can teach them some knowledge but we also learn from them.
