Greetings from the remote town of Castleburn, Dargo, Victoria.

We are a friendly family of four, including two lovely girls aged 6 and 8.
Our local town of Dargo, which is a 20-minute drive away, is a town of around 120 residents, nestled in one of Victoria's most secluded areas.

Our family farm on 1100 acres offers abundant opportunities for bushwalking where you will have encounters with our cattle, wild deer and native wildlife including Kangaroos, Wallabies, Wombats and Emus and a vast variety of native bird species. It's a true taste of Australia's natural beauty.

During your stay with us, you'll have your own room with built in robes in our comfortable four-bedroom farm home with a beautiful chef's kitchen and communal dinning and lounge area with wood fire. You will share a family bathroom equipped with both a shower and a bath.

Our family consists of wife and husband, Emily (34) and Emile (36), and our two vibrant daughters, Blaire (6) and Ivy (7). We also have two friendly Kelpie dogs, Tully and Pippa, who enjoy playtime and walks.

Our family farm is renowned for its stunning natural landscapes, making it a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers. It is also paradise for star gazers due to the lack of city lights. The sky-scape at night is simply amazing.

If you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle and embrace a lifestyle of distance from amenities in a breathtaking setting, you've found the perfect place.

In staying with us, you'll have the chance to enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities, ranging from invigorating bush-walks to observing local wildlife, including wild Deer, Kangaroos, Wallabies, Wombats and Emus in addition to a wide range of birdlife.

Tasks and projects vary from general cleaning and house painting to tending to our chicken domestic coop, assisting with domestic garden bed creation, planting and propagation of vegetables for us to eat, fencing to keep foxes away from our domestic chickens, house tidying, help with shed tidying and general garden upkeep.

We are also working on building a sustainable campsite for our family and friends, when they come to stay.

If you're creative and and don't mind getting your hands dirty occasionally, you'll find the tasks enjoyable and satisfying. Under most circumstances, you will be undertaking tasks alongside us, so you won't be without support.

You will not be helping on any commercial / for profit projects or projects related to our business activity.

Getting to our farm is straightforward. You can take a train from Melbourne to Bairnsdale, then we will be able to pick you up and transport you the scenic 50-minute journey to our family farm. Alternatively, if you prefer to use your own transportation, you're more than welcome to do so.

There is no local public transport available to or from our farm or our nearest town, however, we do travel down to Bairnsdale at least 1 time per week for supplies. During these trips, and all others, you are welcome to join us.

During your down time, you can either join us in our family outings bush-walking, hunting, gold prospecting, fishing, building, crafting or spend your time at home / make your own plans. There is plenty of space to enjoy time exploring without leaving our property if you wish.

Those who would like to become a part of our family unit will have the most fulfilling stay and cultural exchange.

We also have a holiday house in Metung, nestled along the picturesque Gippsland Lakes. When we visit, we have a great time fishing and swimming. As a guest of our family, you're invited to join us for our family holidays there as well.

Our daily routines involve early rising, as our girls hop on the school bus at 7:15 AM followed by a day full of working on our projects and tending to our livestock. Our day winds down with picking up the children from the school bus at 4:45pm then an early bedtime for the kids after a family dinner. We often enjoy a couple of episodes of our favorite series or movie on Netflix after the kids go to bed (which you are welcome to enjoy with us) before turning in to bed.
