I grew up in the Southwest deserts of the United States and have been working in Madrid, Spain as a teaching assistant the past two years. I began traveling in 2023 after a chance encounter on the San Juan Islands inspired me to make a change and explore another version of what my life could be. Six months later, I had quit my corporate job, moved out of California and began a five month backpacking trip across Costa Rica and Ecuador. I completed two enriching month long work exchanges during that time, at the Tierra de Sueños yoga retreat center in Costa Rica and on a finca off the coast of Ecuador. Both experiences transformed the way I thought about my life, necessity, my relationship to labor, and gave me completely new skills-- I can now do the splits and bee keep!

Since then, I have worked as a secondary school teacher in Madrid and had the great pleasure of taking part in Spanish education, culture, gastronomy, and lifestyle. I am excited to explore more of the country through workaway and contribute to a place that has been home for me these past two years. Quiero mejorar mi español y aprender mas de tu cultura y vida. Tambien, en mi workaway ideal, podria aprender sobre permacultura, pasa tiempo en el jardin, y me gustaria tener tiempo para caminar y escrivir.

I am a hard worker and a fast learner, as demonstrated in my previous workaways and my professional experience. I love to take on new projects and learn new skills. I am curious, honest, and am excited to share my experiences and knowledge from my 26 years of life!

In my free time, I love to:
-hike, roller skate, go for walks, surf, bike, play tennis, anything outdoors whatever it may be... My busy adolescence made me love to spend time outside!
-read and write. I am a lifelong reader of fiction and journaler, and I have recently begun writing my own short stories
-watercolor, crochet, drawing... I'll try my hand at anything creative!
-explore new music through festivals, concerts, and local places
-connecting with friends over coffee or a beautiful meal

I have held a variety of professional positions throughout my life, from nanny to gym attendant to hostess to event coordinator. I have 6 years of customer service experience and have handled sensitive situations with care and grace many times. I have worked with all age groups, from children as young as 8 years old to customers well in to their 70s. I am an astute question asker and value relationship building when working with customers and coworkers alike.
I also have extensive experience in event planning and management and using social media to promote said events. I am comfortable on all media platforms and easily pick up new technologies.
I am adaptable, inquisitive and a natural learner! I have received only positive feedback in all my workplaces and know I bring an energetic, optimistic energy to my employers.
