Beschreibung

We are Kevin (30) and Vivian (30)! We are both from the USA and are looking to travel and work in Italy this summer. We have been together for 4 years now. We are both extremely interested in farming and hope to have a farm of our own one day. Workaway is a great way for us to help with work, while learning more about different farming techniques. We are both diligent workers and are open to any task given to us, whether it has to do with plants, animals, or construction.

We currently have a very small community garden plot in the city we live in. In our plot, we were very proud of the produce we managed to grow. We grew tomatoes, cucumbers, mizuna, peas, arugula, broccoli, basil, and chives. Some of the foods we made from our produce were pickles, tomato sauce, pesto, and salsa. We enjoy cooking and trying new foods, so we are open to cooking for the group. Vivian is very proud of her Mexican culture and would be happy to cook Mexican food for anyone interested in trying it.

We both indoor rock climb and hope to do some outdoor climbing during our travels.

I’m finishing up my PhD in Stem Cell Biology this spring, ask me about my thesis at your own risk! Growing up I traveled to a ranchito in Mexico, yearly, where I developed my love for food and agriculture. I have a particular fondness for tropical fruit trees, I bet you can't guess my favorite fruit! When I’m not doing science, I enjoy gardening, pottery, and biking. Through workaway I’m looking for a rejuvenating adventure where I can spend as much time outdoors as possible.

I am currently a civil engineer working in ocean front construction and have a boating license. I have done workaway twice before, in Ireland and Italy. I had great experiences and really enjoy planting as well as working with animals. I would be very interested in learning more about livestock farming. Any job that needs to be done I am open to doing it. With my background in civil engineering I can help with construction, whether it is timber, steel, or concrete construction.
I play hurling (an Irish sport) and skateboard. I also enjoy art and have recently gotten into photography.

We are both native English speakers and are open to helping others improve their language skills. Vivian is fluent in Spanish and is open to practicing and teaching Spanish with others. Kevin has studied Mandarin and would like to continue practicing and improving his language level. We both desire to learn Italian. We have learned some basics and are looking forward to practicing with others!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I am a civil engineer so I know about construction and earth properties. I am a good listener and great at following instructions. I am physically fit and am excited about getting my hands dirty. I have worked abroad, in China, so I am understanding of different cultures and can adapt to new surroundings.

I play hurling (an Irish sport) and would love to teach others. I like to draw and paint. I like rock climbing, although I’m just starting. I love to hike and cannot wait to explore new hiking trails. I really like learning about cooking and trying new recipes from different cultures.
