Hi there, I'm Kate! My passions are helping people, playing sports, travelling, cycling, creating and enjoying art, and playing the guitar. I love to meet and work with new people, and immerse myself in different languages and cultures. I have an open mind and an open heart.
One of my favorite experiences has been volunteering for a non-profit organization that supplies and fixes bicycles for people in need (http://www.bicyclehouse.org/).

I played Division 1 Fútbol for the universities I attended: Stetson University and University of North Florida and received a bachelor's degree in art. During my time at Stetson I had the amazing opportunity to work for the writing center where I was able to connect with students from all around the world and help them with their writing.

I am excited to see the world and impact people on the community level :)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Previously, I have done two work-aways in Italy with my best friend Tom. The first one was in Lake Como where I volunteered for a local organic grocery store. Here I learned about how to stock and restock produce and other goods on the shelves, clean the store, and interact with people from many different cultures to help them find what they needed.

At the second work away, Tom and I volunteered on a very large and hilly property in Fivizzano, Italy where we supplied yard care for a gentleman named Tony. This was a very physically rigorous experience and I learned a lot about how to take care of plants and use tools like a lawn mower and weed wacker.

I have experience working in a garden: clearing out beds, replanting, and repurposing produce. I consider myself quickly adaptable to physical labor and using my hands. I am not afraid to sweat and I am certainly not afraid to get dirty.

I have a lot of physical skills to offer, such as strength and endurance in hot, humid, and difficult conditions and I am very good with my hands. I can learn to do almost anything when someone directs me.

I am a very hard worker and I consider compassion to be one of my best skills as it allows me to make very meaningful connections with the people I work with and for.
