My name is Joy Yang, and I'm from Taiwan. I previously worked as a project manager in the financial industry. This year, I'm a teacher in Taiwan. During my university years, I had some tutoring experience (mathematics/English). I've traveled solo to over 50 countries in 4 continents. I enjoy making new friends and exploring different cultures.
During my travels, I also participate in volunteer activities and work exchange programs. I once worked for a month at a newly opened hostel, where my duties included basic cleaning, greeting guests, and painting furniture. I learned free diving there. I also worked for a week on an olive farm in Turkey and for two months with a family in Los Angeles, where my basic jobs were household cleaning. I made many good friends and created many wonderful memories there.
Last year, my host family from Los Angeles visited Taiwan, and we met again in Taipei! All the memories were amazing!
I want to see the Northern Lights in Tasmania! Please let me know if you live in or near a place where the aurora are visible! Aside from seeing the aurora, I am interested in the following areas:
1. Working on a farm. I love animals and would love to experience farm life, although I only have a week of olive picking experience. I want to learn more with nature!
2. Working with a family. I enjoy meeting locals and engaging in cultural exchange. I can do some basic housework and cook dinner for you while exploring the city!
3. Teaching. I am currently a teacher. I also gained extensive teaching experience during my university years. I love children. I teach English and math. Furthermore, I am friendly and know how to work with students with special needs (such as ADHD, autism, etc.) :)
