Beschreibung

As two young people, who both have the constant need to step out of our comfort zone. But we are in no hurry. We will take our time to get to know the local life in places we pass and try to enjoy every amazing opportunity that we get in our adventure.

It has been more than two years since we started travelling together. And we must say, not even a single moment of regret. We have collected many good stories to tell, met the most extraordinary and inspiring people, lived through many rough but also amazing times, while discovering a tiny tiny bit of this big world. We grow everyday and with each and every challenged we are faced with, but so far it’s fair to say that we understood how important it is to be kind to everyone, to always give our best, to never give up and that we can always count on each other.

*At the moment, Andra is travelling solo in Mexico, because Joana had to go back to Europe for personal reasons.

We can both teach you our native languages (Andra - Estonian, Joana -Portuguese) and help you out with English. We have also learnt a little bit of Italian with our short one year stay there. Joana is able to understand very well Spanish and talk as well. Andra is eager to learn Spanish but can already manage to have conversations.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Diving - both of us have Specialty Diver certification from SSI with over 20 dives. We have done the Navigation, Science of Diving, First Aid (React Right) courses. We also started the deep diving course, but didn't have the opportunity to finish it. On our free time we love to go snorkelling. We are both good swimmers.

Sailing - We sailed over 1200 miles in Sicily in 2022. we crossed the Atlantic in January 2023, from Las Palmas to Martinique. Later, we went up to the next two islands, Dominique and Guadeloupe. Afterwards we followed different paths. Andra crossed the Atlantic back and Joana went to Colombia (passing through Dom Rep also with a boat).

Photography - we have a side-hustle where we take promotion pictures for different businesses. Joana is more focused on the food photography and Andra in events and portraits. We could also help you out with doing photos for you - for your business, family, workaway profile, whatever you need.

Art - we both love drawing/painting/doing murals. So if you have any artistic projects for us, we would love that! One of our workaway projects was creating an educational 3D water cycle model for children. Nothing is impossible, we love to get creative! We also have the skills to do digital art/design.

We are not afraid to get our hands dirty - we have volunteered before in:
- an Aloe Vera Farm, where there was every type of different tropical plants: general maintenance, repotting, thinning, tying, cutting bamboo etc.
- horse farm: got used to harsh living conditions - shared a camp with around 30 people from all over the world, no clean running water, out-side showers, you were lucky if you had a mattress, etc. Job contained of: feeding and cleaning horses, walking laps with children on the horse, poop-picking and so on.

About Andra:
- Teaching: she spent a month teaching English and Art to refugees in Greece as part of the European Peace Corps.

- Took part of the YFU Colored Glasses program - giving English/Cultural/Society classes to grades 8th - 12th in over 70 schools in Estonia which contained about 200 workshops.

- Public Speaking: performed in front of large groups with over 300 people.

- Team management: leaded a marketing team of 180 people. Focusing on markets and fairs. Worked as a department manager in Decathlon, managing a team of 7 workers. Experience with HR, hiring process, conducting interviews, work schedule making, analysis of business growth.

- Organizing events: organized camps for over 100 people for 3 days over 50 smaller events with a max amount of people of 100.

- Web design: more focused on UI design, able to create a specially designed website for you, that includes all your needs.

- Taking care of animals: volunteered/lived in an animal shelter for a month taking care of dogs (13) and cats (over 50) - giving medicine, feeding, cleaning, grooming, playing.

- Taking care of kids: She spent an Exchange year in the US with a host family that had 7 kids, she also has 2 younger brothers. Not a professional nanny, but they will survive and not be bored :)

- A job as a waitress is also nothing new to her. She knows how to make clients smile but also resolve issues with more complicated clients.

About Joana:
- Bachelor degree in Marine Biology. In university, she took her first diving course in Advanced open waters with GUE.

-Good communication skills and teamwork: she took part as a volunteer of the National Meeting of Biology Students Event, where she helped organized and did several activities and workshops for the students.

- Customer assistance : worked in a Live Science Center. She interacted closely with the customers - explaining how certain how parts of the exhibition work and gave some fun and interesting facts about the marine life in the aquarium part.

-Taking care of aquariums (in Live Science Center): she took care of fish diets, tank’s cleaning and tank’s check ups.

-Participated in several beach clean up projects in Portugal, Greece and Italy. One of which being an underwater activity, with scuba water equipment, organised by Plastic Free Organisation.

-Creating Projections in a NGO: helped developing a community project for I.D.E.A organisation in Greece, by giving the first idea herself and then planning it out in several steps to become a reality. She also made the NGO Q&A document.

-Builds social media templates to help promote businesses

-Bartender for 1month in her previous workaway in Mellow Hostel in Guatemala (August/September 2023)

-Kitchen assistance: worked for 3 months in a restaurant in Switzerland, under a stressful environment. Learned how to work fast and efficiently.

Was noch ...

We both had previously seperate accounts on workaway, but with them expiring a year ago, we decided now to do a new account together.

We actually met in a workaway in Greece and decided to travel together to Italy. Now we have been travelbuddies for almost 3 years. With that time we have discovered that we are an amazing un-stoppable team who complete each other.

For accomondation: we have our own hammocks and can set them up basically anywhere, so we are really flexible. Also used to rough camping life.
