Hello everyone,

Our names are Hollie (29, from the UK) and Albert (28, from Spain).

After spending 2 years backpacking through South-East Asia and completing a year in New Zealand. We returned to Spain, Catalonia, to reconnect with family and for Hollie to learn about Albert's culture and language. It's been 2 years now and we are ready to get back out our backpacks and spend the summer travelling. We have a trip of 8 weeks booked for Peru!

We love travelling slowly through countries and spending as much time as possible in one location to really get to know the place and its people. We see workaway as the best opportunity for this.

We both love spending time outdoors and working with animals. We have worked as animal caretakers for charities in Vietnam and New Zealand. We are plant-based and love cooking and sharing meals with others.

Hollie loves animals, creative writing, bouldering and her weekly walks at the local dog rescue. Hollie has been focusing on learning Catalan as this is the predominant language spoken in the town we are in. However, she would love to use this trip to South America to practice spanish. She is also starting an English learning game company, with the first edition card game currently being printed.

Albert is a creative artist, writer and musician. He loves painting, illustrating, photography, playing the guitar and creating art/music with others. Albert is trilingual with Spanish, Catalan and English.

Back in Spain, we are both working as English teachers and have found a great passion for teaching the language. We are kind and considerate people, who are gentle in nature. We work extremely hard and enjoy learning new skills. We both love gardening and had a successful summer and autumn of produce.

Our dream is to find land in Spain to build a self-sustainable off-grid home and get involved in reforestation and sustainability projects . We are keen to volunteer at similar projects through workaway to learn as much as possible and to help others in their projects. We are fast learners and keen to begin our journey to a more eco-friendly way of life.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

We are both physical fit and enjoy jobs that keep us active and spending time outdoors. We are fast learners and always up for a challenge with a can do attitude.

We are massive animal lovers and have spent a year in total working for animal rescues. The jobs required feeding, cleaning, bookkeeping, gardening, exercising the animals, vet visits, administering medicine, rescue missions, DIY (e.g. enclosure building) and lots of food and supply shopping and a whole lot more.

Back in the UK, Hollie qualified as a primary school and has a CELTA qualification to teach English as a foreign language.

Now we both work as language teachers and have experience teaching english to all ages.

Albert is an excellent chef bringing that Mediterranean flair and Hollie is an obliging sous chef. We love bonding with people over shared meals and learning new recipes.

We have experience in permaculture, and have our own successful organic vegetable garden. We've also learnt a bit about natural building and helped in construction projects.

Albert is also a musician and a painter. He has experience painting murals at previous workaways.

Was noch ...

Albert is a keen musician and is desperate to get back to playing the guitar and making music with others. He loves nothing more than sitting around with other musicians playing guitar and making up silly lyrics together. He has experience teaching guitar lessons and would be happy to share his knowledge.
He also love painting and really misses spending time in a studio. Would love to connect with other creative people and share knowledge and skills.

We are both very sporty and enjoy playing and learning new sports. We are keen to learn how to surf and to go on more scuba diving outings. We love tennis, badminton, hiking, rock-climbing and a good game of catch.

Hollie loves animals and has the patience and interest in dog training. She can spend hours teaching them tricks and useful obedience commands. She credits Albert's excellent manners on her training abilities.

We love nothing more than a good board game after a nice shared meal.
