I love to travel as a citizen of the world, not so much as a tourist. I am looking for experiences where I can be in a culture or place and contribute whatever I can. I have many capabilities and would like to use them in a meaningful way.

I hold a masters degree in organizational & community development, a TEFL certificate, experience as a college instructor in marketing & entrepreneurism and have worked with non-profit organizations and owned my own businesses for many years. I am reasonably fit and healthy (for an older woman) and enjoy connecting with people.

I am looking for experiences with a culture, place, people. To that end, I bring experience in gardening, hospitality, cooking, marketing, teaching (English and other subjects), sewing/crafts/art and a variety of other things I have learned throughout life.

In 2014, I participated in 3 Workaway adventures. Only one host left a review. I stayed with a couple in northern Spain. We did not communicate well, and it shows in her review. Contrary to her perception, I fell in love with northern Spain and totally absorbed the excursions she and her husband took me on.

My second experience, I stayed a month with Josie picking olives in the hills above Tarragona. I am still in touch with that host. The third was an immersive English language school outside of Alicante. I still have contact with 2 of my fellow volunteers in that program. A lot of time and travels have passed since 2014. I work in the arts and volunteer for 4 organizations in St. Petersburg, Florida. I truly love to immerse myself in the cultures in which I live and visit.
