Hi there!

Nice to meet you! I'm Harry from the UK (just south of London to be exact!). I'm looking to work and volunteer as I travel, seeking unique opportunities, experiences and connections as I go. I learned about WorkAway through someone in a hostel years ago, and thought it was finally time to give it a try! I'm currently doing a Working Holiday in Japan

I am a conscientious, independent and open-minded person who is eager to get involved with all types of work and meet interesting people along the way! I'm open to all different kinds of experiences, from working on organic farms to helping out in hospitality or service. I have a plethora of employed and voluntary experience ranging from working as a receptionist at a luxury hotel, leading tours, being a social media intern for a small company, stewarding for events, working in a shop and teaching English in Japan. Hopefully, I can put these skills to use and learn new ones along the way.

I love traveling! After living in cities for most of my life, I want to experience different ways of living. Sustainable agriculture is of particular interest to me. I'm happy to help out with any and all tasks such as gardening, helping develop permaculture, DIY stuff or general maintenance. I hope I can be of help to you!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I've been a teacher at a High School in Japan for the past 2 years, so I am used to working with young people! I helped facilitate English classes and engage students through sharing my culture and generally being a friendly, approachable and supportive person. I also helped organize bi-annual teacher training conferences where I presented on various subjects in front of large audiences.

I have a lot of experience looking after animals - mainly dogs and cats but also some other small pets like rabbits. I used an app called Pawshake for many years to look after people's pets while they were away.

Last summer I spent 3 weeks WWOOFing on a farm in Fukushima, Japan! It was a fantastic experience and I learned a lot about sustainable agriculture and organic farming. I am interested having more of these such experiences and expanding my weeding skills!

I've also done various jobs in the past including leading tours in the UK, customer-service work in shops and social media promotion. I just finished working at a hotel as a concierge at a luxury hotel in a ski resort for the winter season! In the past, I've been commended on my writing skills if you need any help promoting your business or want someone to contribute to a blog. I don't know how to code but I'm good with computers if you need any help with that sort of thing!

I'm eager to get involved with some physical work or any project you have going on!

Was noch ...

I like cycling and exploring new places by bike. I recently cycled across all of South Korea along the 4 rivers trail. It took about a week and was fantastic, highly recommend it!

Hiking and walks through nature are also a big appeal for me. I enjoy listening to music and learning about the world.

I'm also have a keen interest in music production, namely using Ableton Live.

I've done a bit of baking and have one or two easy cooking recipes up my sleeve :)

Very enthusiastic to learn new skills!
