Beschreibung

Hi, my name is Gabriel, Gabe for short -- though I tend to respond to anything with a G and all one-syllable words...

I grew up in Suffern, NY -- a smallish town with next to nothing in it... but it was a wonderful childhood nonetheless! I then moved to Chicago to study both German and Opera at Northwestern University. After finishing my master's degree in Opera at the Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini in Florence, I had a quick jump Torino's opera house, where I interned as a young artist. I currently am employed as an opera/musical singer in the fusioned theater Plauen-Zwickau in Germany.

Now that you have my travel "resume", here are some further basics about me: I love languages, and I love music. I speak German, Italian, and English quite well, and now I am working on my French. I, of course, love singing as well. Currently, my musical passion lies with folk and old-time music. This passion started as a project to learn the banjo, and now I am also learning the fiddle to expand my knowledge of various folk musics. I love picking up new instruments, as it widens my prospective and broadens my horizons.

At heart, I am a traveller in constant movement. I love to travel places -- especially on foot! I learn the most about a city and have the most fun when I accidentally miss a bus and have to walk.

I am looking forward to meeting new people and working on various projects!
