Hi, I'm Francesca! I grew up in Berkeley, California (near San Francisco) and recently graduated from university in San Diego. I'm especially interested in locations where I can meet lots of people and join a community. I am so excited to meet so many new people in my adventure and exchange ideas and culture with those who I would otherwise never meet.

In high school and college I studied abroad in Portugal and Italy, and have traveled lots with my family through the years. My parents are the ones who inspired my love for travel, as they both grew up exploring all sorts of cultures and instilling that passion within me. My dad emigrated from Italy to the USA, so I have lots of family in Italy and we often go to visit them. (I also should note that I do have Italian citizenship, helpful for some volunteering)

I'm here in Italy for 4 months, aiming to improve my Italian and immerse myself in the culture while volunteering. I started learning Italian when I studied abroad in Florence in 2024, I would love to help anyone improve their English who is looking to do so.

I have lots of hobbies, interests, and loves, but above all I love to learn. I'm most excited to learn all about new skills, cultures, and people during my time with workaway.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I've been travelling since Sept (2026) and have done 2 workaways so far! I volunteered at a sailing school for a month, where I helped mainly with cooking, cleaning, and housekeeping for the guests. Met so many amazing people there and fell in love with this way of travel. After that I worked at a small farm in Puglia, helping with lots of manual farm tasks, and learning so much about a self-sustainable and natural way of life, which was amazing. Also had the oppiortunity to steal lots of incredible recipes while there ;)
