Beschreibung

Hey! I am Emma. I'm a recently graduate from a philosophy and sociology degree, so I love discussing social issues, how to tackle them, and big questions about our world.

I love being social, cooking for others, and exploring nature. Activities like yoga, swimming, and long walks in beautiful places, brings me lots of joy! As well as music, dancing, caring for animals.

I am currently exploring the north island with my girlfriend. Gaining insight into Māori culture is one aspect of the trip I feel so excited to learn more about, particularly its relation to nature.

I have done short trips to a few different countries and places before, but never backpacked. One of my favourite trips was when I hitchhiked to an autonomous zone, just outside of Nantes, France. We got to enjoy a slow pace of living, helped with communal tasks like watering the community garden and collecting hay bales. With a few collective groups, surrounded by nature and animals, as well as experiencing communal living, it was so special.

Another thing I really enjoyed was living in Amsterdam for a year as part of my studies. Having the opportunity to live in such a vibrant, international city was incredible. I learnt so much about myself, got thrown out of my comfort zone, and nurtured my passion for art and creativity. I came away feeling fundamentally changed as a person, it was truly amazing.

I have recently been wanting to learn more about sustainable living, local nature, and how to support it, like recognising invasive species and rewilding. My passion for the arts and creativity means I am dying to throw myself into some creative projects, particularly those that incorporate some kind of social engagement.

- decorating, from all the houses I have lived in, as well as organising two DIY mini festivals
- enthusiastic, I throw myself into everything
- hard working and passionate

I would love to gain more specific skills like...
- local wildlife knowledge
- stewardship
- animal rehabilitation and care, not just pets
- technical artistic and DIY skills
But I am very open and excited about any and all opportunities that may come my way !!
