Hi I'm Cody!
SUMMARY: I'm a strong, fit, very health conscious person willing to work hard. I am driven for adventure, travel, and culture exchange. I can't say I'm an expert of any trade skills (ie. building, farming, carpentry, childcare, etc.) but I do have some experience from my past WorkAways and WWOOFs (see photos) and I have a strong desire to learn as much of these things as I can. I've taken a few woodworking classes because I'm super interested in that. Would love to build houses/my own home one day. That is probably my top priority with this but have many others. I am an expert in my craft of human movement, strength, and performance coaching and programming. If you would like to get in better shape, build muscle, get stronger I would love to help! On top of working and being of service, I want to travel and adventure around the world, learning other cultures. It's when I feel most free. Instagram is @codyrzeznik but I don't use it much. I am pretty low maintenance when it comes to food but at least some meat and eggs and/or milk are REALLY important for me in my diet I think. But other than that I'm pretty easy. I have an intermediate grasp of Spanish and trying to get better; intermediate when it comes to reading and writing, beginner when it comes to conversation haha. I'm also trying to learn guitar and enjoy singing. I LOVE dogs; unfortunately allergic to cats.
MORE DETAILED:
I am a personal trainer and human performance coach by trade, both in-person and "online" or remote. I'm also a 200-hour-certified (lowest level) yoga teacher and have my own free-flow style of teaching and creating classes (I just make the class up on the fly). I love strength training, movement of all kinds, running, yoga, dance, sports and all things movement. I love being active and doing manual labor. I like resting, napping, sleeping, having nice conversations, and watching movies too though. I have a strong desire to REALLY LIVE this life. See all the things, feel all the feels, get out of this consumption-obsessed and ego-controlled society.
I believe that sunshine, movement, quality sleep, quality whole foods, proper hydration are vital for health and living a meaningful life; along with community, service, and purpose. And I seek all of that. Sleep is very important to me. I am mostly looking for places that can accommodate me in a private room with a bed but willing to make exceptions for the right opportunity. I tend to go to sleep early and wake up fairly early, tied to my circadian rhythm. I'm very social and love sharing/learning culture, just need some time to recharge as well. I already own fewer things than anyone else I know but trying to really simplify and be happy with having as few things (clothes, etc.) as possible.
A few things I'm most interested in at the moment:
1) Learning trade skills and blue collar work. I'm really interested in learning how to build structures, like small homes, ADUs, tables, etc. Natural building as well as wood frame building. But I'd love to learn any trade skills such as building, fixing things, using tools, engineering/design/architecture, farming/gardening, anything of value!! This is the most important thing I'm looking for in workaway opportunities, on top of community.
I'm also interested in learning how to hunt, ranch, grow, harvest, forage my own food. I worked on a small ranch in Texas a few years ago that consisted of 30 goats, 2 donkeys, and about 50 chickens but it was just a hobby farm. I also worked on a horse ranch "finca" via WorkAway in Costa Rica where I milked a cow twice a day for 2 weeks and fed and mucked up after horses. But again, it was mostly just a hobby farm. I processed a goat, from life to death and evisceration, with friends a few times.
2) Sustainable, self-sufficient "luxury" living... I don't believe we need to live in tents eating only rice and beans and bugs (lol) to be sustainable. We can have some of our simple modern "luxuries" like a bed and simple beautiful homes and eat fresh, healthy food and still be sustainable and live in harmony with nature. So if there are people doing that, I'm down! But living in a basic tent and going to the bathroom in a bucket probably isn't for me.
3) Movement, yoga, strength, fitness, sports. I am a strength and conditioning personal trainer, 200-hour yoga teacher, and sports coach by trade. I also work with many clients on nutrition. I have an online training business as well that I would need minimal time to work on, but not a lot. I love working with people who want to learn how to move well, get out of pain, get strong, and maybe even bodybuild. My training with clients revolves around proper movement first and then building strength and fitness on top of that. If you have aches and pains, I like to work with people to get out of back pain, knee pain, etc. though that is not something that always has an easy physical solution... I would love to continue developing my yoga and meditation teaching. I also can coach kids in sports skills. I played football, basketball, baseball at a high level. I also know how to golf, play soccer, and my current sports in LA at 36 years of age are beach tennis and volleyball. Bodybuilding and physique is a hobby of mine if that is of interest to anybody.
I'd love to consult with resorts and communities on how to implement a proper holistic, all-encompassing fitness and wellness offering into their community. I've worked in management and have a master's degree. I know the business of personal training very well.
4) Teaching and coaching. I love teaching. I would feel comfortable teaching English. I have an intermediate grasp of Spanish that would help with Spanish speakers and am continuing to practice. My girlfriend is Brazilian so I'm getting touches of Portuguese as well. I was a very good student (4.0+ with AP classes) and could help teach or tutor other subjects as well; particularly math and science (I even loved calculus). I was a substitute teacher for two years right after college. I have also been a coach for many sports such as football, basketball, and baseball and play a lot of volleyball and beach tennis now. I have 5 young nieces aged 1-11 and was a counselor for many summers so I have experience with young children. I would really love to help in under-privileged and under-developed places with the right opportunity.
I'm also interested in the idea of home-schooling and learning about unconventional topics outside the normal curriculum.
5) Working with all kinds of animals. Monkeys really pique my interest; and other exotic animals. Cows and ruminant management/husbandry. I would love to learn how to ride and work with horses, particularly in a ranch setting, I've done basic horse riding many times but only cantered on a horse a few times ha. I am allergic to domestic cats; but if they stay outside of my living space and I don't have to pet them it's fine.
I grew up in Michigan but have been living in California for the last 9 years. I have three brothers and now 5 young nieces aged 1-11. All back in Michigan. I love the sun, warm weather, and the beach, but often miss the seasons; particularly the fall. I have a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and master's degree in Management.
I like to stay active and busy; sitting at a desk from 9 to 5 was never for me. I'm a strong and able-bodied person who would love to do any kind of work; I particularly enjoy physical and manual labor and working with my hands. But I also enjoy using my mind; creativity, problem solving, brainstorming ideas, talking about philosophy. I need WiFi seldomly to train and coach some clients remotely, but also dream of never being on a phone or laptop ever again.
While I enjoy traveling and adventure, long term I am really seeking a community of like-minded people, who have a vision of creating a better world; one that is more connected to nature and earth and love and community. Whether that be in the United States or anywhere else. I enjoy talks about philosophy, politics, spirituality, socio-economics, etc. because even though most people avoid these topics I think they are important to talk about. I barely drink (I will have a beer) and don't smoke and am very keen on healthy living. My ultimate dream is to live in a hard-working, mostly self-sustaining community somewhere that is built on collaboration, love, and harmony... not greed, individualism, and consumerism that comes with our hyper capitalist society; but that still allows for some of the simple luxuries of modern life like private rooms, comfy beds, and maybe a gym nearby!

Was könntest du arbeiten?
I worked for 4 months on a small ranch near Austin, Texas (WWOOF). The ranch's instagram is @highrockranch if you want to check them out! There, I tended to donkeys, goats, and chickens. I helped build fences, clear brush, work on a tractor, make small repairs, weld, etc. It has been two years so I would need to relearn some things! But I am a fast learner and hard worker. I also did a WorkAway in Greece on a small private orchard where I learned how to plant and tend to trees. A year and a half ago I worked for 3 weeks on a small horse farm "finca" in Costa Rica. Here I milked a cow, tended to the horses, and did side jobs around the farm.
I am a personal trainer (strength and fitness), yoga instructor, and nutrition coach by trade so I know a lot about the body and movement and nutrition. I have also worked a lot with kids and athletes. I was a coach and substitute teacher for many summers. I played football, basketball, baseball, golf, and a little tennis, soccer. Now I play a lot of beach volleyball. I have a bachelor's degree and master's degree. I speak a beginner/intermediate level of Spanish and am currently working toward becoming fluent. I have also helped paint inside the house.

I am very much seeking community. I am also looking to be somewhat of a professional WorkAwayer haha. I am looking for opportunities where I can stay for extended periods of time and work for my keep. I am also very interested in being immersed in cultures and local communities. I love spending time with people, but I also need my alone time to recharge. Look forward to connecting!

Not really, but I like to eat healthy and fresh. I understand this is a privilege. I'm very simple but particular: I eat animal products like eggs, meat, fish, some dairy (always going for grass-fed, pasture raised, organic, raw, etc.) and fruits mostly.
