Hello world, Sydney here!

I grew up on the east coast of Australia, and moved with my family to Vancouver when I was 13. Always inclined to change and shift my setting and learn more about the world, I left home very young and began to travel full-time, mostly throughout Canada, the USA and Mexico, as well as some time in Europe.

After years of moving around, working seasonally as a treeplanter to provide for myself throughout the year, volunteering internationally as well as finding gigs along the road, I ended up deciding to study as a community support worker in Victoria, BC. I fell in love with the island here and the centralised opportunity for adventure and exploration. It is truly beautiful on Vancouver Island, and I welcome those I meet on my travels to come visit this place I've fallen so in love with! I now run cut flower business as well as work carpentry/timberframing jobs.

Alas, my feet still itch and I feel the urge to keep travelling!

I would describe myself as a generally upbeat and energetic person, and someone who is very aware of their surroundings. I like to talk to all kinds of different people and learn more about what makes them tick. I am a hard worker who thrives with structure and clear direction.

I have years of experience on farms (flower farms and vegetable farms), experience working at bars and hostels, experience working in outdoor tourism (on ski hills in Canada!), experience organising shows and events, and my absolute passion is being with children and having an opportunity to play and teach!


I am looking forward to what my life will bring, and all the wonderful new people I'm bound to meet! I hope you'll be one of them.
