A Little About Me:

Hi! I’m Bruna. I was born in Brasil and raised in the vibrant multicultural energy of New York. Growing up in such a diverse place sparked a lifelong curiosity about how different people live, connect, and build community.

Currently, I’m looking to step out of the city pace to ground myself and learn from those living more sustainably or intentionally. I am a true beginner in many ways, but I am an active beginner...I learn best by doing and I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty.


What I Bring to Your Home/Project:

A positive "Yes" Attitude: I’m here to expand my horizons. Whether it’s weeding a garden, helping with childcare, or assisting with a DIY project, I’m all in. I want to gain as much experience as possible and am not limiting myself.

Hospitality & Care: With a background in education and the restaurant industry, I’m great with kids and very comfortable in fast paced, service oriented environments. I’m tidy, organized, and used to shared living (NYC roommate life!). I also love animals, and am happy to support with animal care.

Handy & Resourceful: I grew up in a construction family. I’m comfortable with basic tools and I’m usually the one fixing things or assembling furniture at home. I am happy to take on building projects.

Cultural Exchange: I’d love to share stories of NYC or Brasil, cook a meal together, or even have a karaoke/game night. I value personal space but truly enjoy the social aspect of a Workaway.


My Goals:

I want to see the world through different cultural lens. I’m interested in learning traditions, trying different foods, and being on a new daily rhythm.

I would love to practice my Spanish and am happy to speak Portuguese and English as well.

I want to learn the "how to" of farming and cultivation, including everything from irrigation to harvest.

I am a native English speaker and I am also fluent in Portuguese. I love the way language connects us, and I am very happy to: Teach/Practice English with you or your children in a fun, conversational way. Practice Spanish: I am currently at an intermediate level and eager to immerse myself to become more fluent. Portuguese: I'm happy to converse in my native tongue.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I am flexible and can adapt to different circumstances and tasks need be. I am always eager to give it my best and learn something new. I don't have farming experience. I once did work a few months giving tours at a local farm in NYC. My background experience consists mostly of childhood education. I garden occasionally, and love animals. Not necessarily a skillset but incase you have farm animals and need support with them, I am happy to help. Since I currently work at a restaurant I am comfortable with floating, standing on my feet and carrying some weight.

Was noch ...

I enjoy dancing, writing and walks. I love spending time between mountains and the beach. I am pretty easy going and open to trying new activities. To me, reading, puzzles or watching a good film are great downtime activities when indoors, as for outdoors when spebdibg time in nature I love to watch a sunrise/sunset, go on hike, kayak and just connect to my surrounding. Music is always somehow implemented in my days.
