Hello, my name is Agathe and I’m 19 years old. I live in the french speaking part of Switzerland with my family. I’ve got one older sister.
I have a dog, a cat and a horse. I really love animals, taking care of them, playing with them and riding horses. My horse is now 11 years old and I have him since he was 3 years old. He is a quarter horse, so I ride western with him, but in the past I used to ride english, and I have made a little bit of jumping. With my horse, I also enjoy horsemanship, ground work with a rope and tackless riding. I do trail with him. The most important for me is the horse’s well being and I consider animals to be fully intelligent and sensitive creatures.
I love children and have been baby sitting for the last two years and I have good references (if you want). I like to play with them, to help them, have fun.
I also love to travel and see new places. With my parents, we have traveled a lot all around the world and now I want to do this on my own, and discover new environments and meet new people :). I just finished high school and I want to travel during one year before going to university. I’m an open minded and sociable person who really like share with the others and learn about them and about what they do.

Vom Workawayer () für Host (Volunteer at a school and ...)

I had a lovely experience at the International school and with my host family! I stayed almost 6 weeks, volunteering at the school. The children are so sweet and nice, they will love and accept you as soon as you arrive. I was in the kindergarten, so my main task was to sing songs in the morning, teach them how to write (they just start writing,… read more so it is some ABC letters and numbers, they are only 3 years old), teach them how to pronounce the letters and alphabet. I also played with them and watch them while they were playing together. I also had a wonderful time with all the teachers and the principal who are very nice and helpful. At the beginning, of course you have to find your place with them but very quickly I felt comfortable with the children and the teachers. I really appreciated because the teachers let me doing a lot of things with the kids and gave me some responsibilities which was nice and a proof of their trust. I really felt usefull at school and I have the feeling I did something great there (at least I hope hihi).

Now some words about my lovely host family. I had an amazing time with Shanker (the father), Chunchun (his daughter) and her grandma. They were very nice with me and they really made me feel as if I was a part of their family. We went on different trips (Nagarkot, Pokhara, Chitwan, Lumbini) which was really nice because I could explore other part of Nepal than Kathmandu with Nepali people and I was so lucky that they brought me with them, thanks again for that! I was also lucky to meet Chunchun, my Nepali sister, we did a lot of things together and we get really close. My stay wouldn’t be the same without her, definitely! By living with them you will really learn about Nepali culture and Nepali food and I think it is a very rich and interesting experience for people who wants to do something different and usefull in their life.

Anyway I really recommend this school and Shanker’s family, I had so much fun there, and I will never forget my host family, those wonderful children and their smile who made me happy everyday. It was so hard to leave but I hope I could come back one day! Thank you everyone for your welcoming, your kindness, and your joy of living, I won’t forget it!

My stay with Beate was more than gorgeous, it was MAGICAL! I can say that it was the best experience of my life. Agathe was a pleasure to have around my home and fourlegged family. She was amazing with caring for the animals, worked really hard at any job I asked her to do and proved herself to be a sensitive and competent horsewomen.
