Hi! We’re Zaira (25, from Colombia) and Petru (28, from Italy), a couple passionate about languages, travel, and cultural exchange.

Zaira recently completed her degree in Foreign Languages Education, with a focus on elementary education. Her goal is to become a Spanish teacher for foreigners. She has experience working with children, teenagers, and adults through her academic training. In addition, she works as an online Spanish tutor on Preply, where she helps students worldwide improve their Spanish skills.

Both of us participated in three Work and Travel programs in the United States, where we worked in different fields such as retail and kitchen positions. These experiences helped us grow professionally, become more independent, and significantly improve our English in real-life environments. We also learned a lot about teamwork, adaptability, and cultural exchange while living abroad.

In addition, Zaira spent two months volunteering in Como, Italy, an experience she truly loved, as it allowed her to immerse herself in a new culture, support local communities, and continue developing her intercultural skills.

Petru is currently studying International Relations in Italy. He speaks five languages: English, Spanish, Italian, Russian, and Romanian, and he enjoys travelling, meeting people from different countries, and learning new languages.

Together, we enjoy discovering new places, building international connections, and sharing experiences with people from around the world. We are especially passionate about cultural exchange, language learning, and personal growth. As a couple, we value curiosity, respect, and openness, and we love stepping out of our comfort zone to keep learning from new environments and people.

We appreciate hosts who communicate expectations clearly from the beginning. We value respect for our privacy, personal space, free time, and personal belongings, as well as clear working schedules. We believe mutual respect and open communication are essential for a successful Workaway experience. In the USA, we had the opportunity to be pet sitters, taking care of dogs and other animals with responsibility, attention, and love for animals.

We are able to share and teach the languages we know, especially Spanish, English and Italian, and we are happy to support children and young people in their learning and development.

We are very open to meeting and sharing with people from different cultures, as we believe cultural exchange is one of the most enriching experiences in life. We enjoy sharing our traditions while also learning from others.

We are also open to developing new skills wherever we go, adapting to different environments, and growing both personally and professionally through new experiences.
