I'm an adventurer. I'm always looking to live a great story. I've traveled a lot by American standards. I've been an expat once for 4+ years. I enjoy meeting all the fascinating people of the world my mind couldn't even imagine. I like to give them a helping hand when I can while I'm wandering the world. I hope we live, laugh, learn, and love while making the world a slightly better place than before we met.

I lived in Spain for 4+ years and became a TEFL (teacher of English as a foreign language) teacher there.
I've been to: Canada, Mexico, Cuba, Guatemala, Spain (lived in Sevilla y Madrid), Portugal, England, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Poland, Switzerland, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Germany, Netherlands, and Morocco.

I'm from Chicago, Illinois. I've also lived in Florida, and now live in Austin, Texas.

I love nature, hiking, national parks, campfires, animals, almost anything outdoors, tapas, beaches, palm trees, cooking, siestas, fiestas, grilling, cheese, meat, gastronomy, wine, microbrews/craft beer, volunteering, frisbee, yoga, floating, riding my bike, spirituality, plant medicine, ancient civilizations, fishing, culture, writing, reading, journalism, philosophy, psychology, Anthony Bourdain, Alan Watts, random encounters with strangers, concerts, using my passport, Cuban rum, people watching, fantasies, dreams, living, learning, longing and losing, with loving and laughing and filling the gaps in between.

I have a master's degree in speech & communication; mass media, persuasion & propaganda.

I'm a content marketer. I write blogs, white papers, emails, etc. I do on-page SEO.

I'm spending time in Mexico this fall (2023) and into next spring/2024. I am looking for hosts along the way in between stops. I'm looking for friendly, hospitable hosts who I can help, have a cultural exchange with, and hopefully make new friends as a way to have an authentic experience with locals and extend my trip.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

My primary and best skill for this type of thing is English teaching. I am a globally certified TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language) instructor. I taught adults business English for 4 years. I also did 1 on 1 lessons. I have no problems teaching younger people and children. I enjoy teaching and have fun teaching English.

I like doing this to get out into the countryside, farms, and hinterlands. I love nature. I like providing labor and taking care of chores and tasks outside. Farm stuff, orchards, gardens, crops, animals, gardening, watering plants, whatever. I laid a stone path on the side of a mountain in a Moorish terrace garden in Lanjaron, Spain once. I hope it's there as long as the Moorish walls!

I can do some basic handyman stuff. I've hung drywall and painted in the past.

I'm a big guy. I can do some hard labor and haul stuff around.

I'm really good with dogs. If you need anything dog related, I'm the man for the job. Can I take your dogs hiking with me???

I cook. I enjoy cooking. Always happy to cook a meal. I used to be a pizza chef and worked at 2 pizzerias in Chicago. I also used to manage a conference center and do catering for large groups. I particularly like grilling and barbecuing.

I'm a writer. If you need anything written, I can probably help, especially if it's business related. I've written for various industries and have done some travel writing in the past.

I do content marketing, so I specialize in writing blogs. If you need digital marketing or content marketing help, I'm the man for the job. I know front end/on page SEO stuff, if you use Wordpress or Shopify. I also know Google Analytics and basics about traffic, data, and analytics. I can offer advice on how to improve website SERPs and rankings.

I volunteered once for Big Brothers Big Sisters. I had a "little brother" once for a couple years. I love kids and am happy to spend time with them.

I've spent time helping and taking care of the elderly. If you have any elderly family, relatives or friends, I can help out with that.

I tell really awesome campfire stories!!!!

I have a great sense of humor and will make you laugh.

I like hiking, nature, outdoors, meditation, yoga, ancient civilizations, archeoastrology, reading, poker is lots of fun, board games are great, National parks, fishing, animals, stars at night, ruins, campfires. Cultural exchanges, traveling, Anthony Bourdain.

I work hard. I come from a family of blue collar construction workers. I like putting in a good day's work outside to earn my keep. I'm a clean person, always keep things tidy and pick up after myself. I'm an upbeat person, always laughing, smiling and joking around. The atmosphere where you live will get an energy boost from my visit. I want to have fun, and learn from you!
