Hi we’re Rowena and Dylan, a Welsh couple who are currently travelling around Europe in our little Citroen Relay van that we built ourselves. I (Rowena that is) like to play music, be in nature, create art and do any crafts imaginable. I’m big into wild swimming and love to go on walks and hikes. Dylan is into woodworking, loves to cook and also enjoys playing music - we love to do this together. Dylan is very practical, and comes from a trade background and was instrumental in our van build!

We love to sit around the fire and chat, juggle and poi. We’re very hard working and love to get involved. We love animals, the outdoors and are not afraid of getting dirty.

I (Rowena) am half Italian and have been learning the language loosely for a few years. Every time I visit my family I practice speaking, and also spent 5 weeks in Rome studying Italian. I am very passionate about learning the language and want to practice as much as I can. Dylan has been picking up some Italian too as I learn, and is wanting to learn more. Dylan has also been learning Welsh, which is the national language of our home country, Wales

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Rowena: my main passion and skills lie within the creative arts. I love painting, sewing, knitting, collage, clay, sculptures, poetry etc. I love music and can play a few instruments (not as good as I used to) piano, guitar, a bit of the flute and ocarina!

I’m very handy and have always been able to make anything. Dylan has taught me a lot with building when we built our van together so I can turn my hand to that too. I’m really interested and looking to create some large pieces of art you may need, large murals or sculpture pieces so please feel free to ask for any creative challenges from me! Lastly my background is in project management which I’m always happy to use these skills if you need help planning/organising events or projects.

Dylan: Dylan is a fantastic craftsperson and has great skills with woodworking and carpentry. He was a power house building a van, and is very precise. He can build structures and fences, and has done in previous volunteering experiences.

He also is very passionate about wood carving and enjoys making Welsh love spoons. This is one of his main passions and he wants to learn more about creating a business from his skills. Additionally he is a trained industrial electrician and put together our whole van electrical system which has never failed us!

Was noch ...

Dylan and I have always been interested in living an alternative/nomadic/self sustainable life. It’s what’s motivated us to move into our van currently, but in the long term we aim to buy a small holding in south wales and are using this experience to learn as much as possible so we can take it forward in our future life plans. We’re both eco conscious and want to learn more about growing food, keeping animals and general self sufficient living.

We both love listening and playing to music, and have enough instruments crammed into our tiny van to start a band! We love jamming with others and learning from more advanced musicians.

Dylan is a great cook and loves to feed people, we love to have big family style meals and try new cuisines.

Lastly we’re both super chill and very friendly, we’re looking for new experiences, opportunities to meet people and form connections and to just learn from others and different cultures. We’re very hard workers and always want to make sure we’re earning our stay!
